Cocoa Bakery — Restaurant in Kolkata

I used to go to this place years back. This used to be my go to Café with friends. But I am having really bad experience for last few visits which started since 2019. But at first I thought it was just one day. But few days ago I gave it another visit (WHICH Will Be Considered As My Last For Sure); and surprisingly it turns out to be the same of not worse. They are not at all attentive towards their customers. I have gone there and waited for almost half an hour and nobody took an order. Then I approached the counter yet the workers were busy talking to themselves. At last they took the order. Then there were several people coming and going out of nowhere continuously. It almost feels like the cafe is actually a hall of a building where each member of that building is going out to the street. They don't check on their customers at all,ONLY IF YOU ARE TWO PEOPLE IN NUMBERS AND SAT ON THE COUCH. They are super alarmed if you do so and you will be told for sure to move as it's for group of people. Even when there's nobody in the cafe at that time. THE ONLY TIME I SAW THEM BEING ACTIVE TO BE HONEST. it's sad to see how one cafe which was once a favourite cosy spot has certainly fell apart. They need to work on their...

It's a lovely place to go for a soothing,chillaxing(as they say) evening with light snacks,tranquil drinks and some of the most delicious food as well as bakery items available in Kolkata. Had visited their Minto Park outlet, which I found to be far more attractive and comfortable in terms of size as well as ambience(though even that is pretty small).The service here is extremely nice and pretty quick.Ambience is excellent for relaxing your day-long tired brains.All in all,a wonderful atmosphere but it's just a bit congested.

Coming to the food... We ordered -

Grilled Chicken with Parsley Rice - it was simply awesome...the combination worked wonders with the boiled vegetables adding to the sensational stimuli on the taste buds.

Chicken Penne Pasta - Was well-made and delicious(just a tad bit oily).

Brownie in bowl - You just HAVE TO TRY THIS !! One of the best desserts I have had in a while.The all-so creamy layer of chocolate sauce with the soft, smooth brownie stuffed inside a bowl, was simply a delight and a perfect end to our small yet yummalicious meal time !

Wish I could give negative reviews. We went there on the day of Nabami of Durga Puja, but surprisingly found the place empty, there wasn't a single customer apart from us. We ordered CB Fried Chicken Egg Benedict, Fish and Chips, peach iced tea and Iced Cappuccino, we expected the food to be served quickly as we were the only customer but they took their own sweet time. Once the food arrived the Fish was not fresh and it had a pungent raw smell, and as I cut open the Friend Chicken it was bloody, as if they hadn't cleaned the chicken properly. So we moved on to the drinks and not one of them was good, peach iced tea was too sour, cold Cappuccino was too tasteless. We were extremely disheartened but thought not to say anything as it was a time of Durga Puja and they're working instead of enjoying. But the next day that bloody fried chicken gave me diarrhoea and I had to survive on ORS for the next two days. I didn't want to put any reviews as it's a dear old adda junction of ours, but serving unhygienic food absolutely unacceptable. Hence, it put an end to our regular visit...
