Today I went and ordered 1 Mutton Pantheras, 1 Fish Kabiraji and 2 Mutton Braised Cutlet... but instead of Mutton I received chicken cutlet and I was charged the same price as the Mutton Braised Cutlet ... The server initially didn't accept the fact that he served me chicken but when we found out the chicken bone he tried to fool us but there was another staff who was honest enough to accept the mistake on his behalf... really unhappy with my first experience and the fact that I spent 300 bucks on cab ride just to go there and have a Mutton Braised Cutlet.. Such a Disappointment!! Normally I hate to write reviews but as a foodie I am upset at the fact that I did not get to taste their Mutton Braised Cutlet and got 2 Chicken Cutlet instead... Now Thinking about the fact will I promote this Cabin ? The answer is NO.. there are way better cabins is that area like Mitra Cafe and Allen Kitchen that serves top quality food with a bit higher price but mainly their service is exceptional..This cabin is nothing but a...

Munched over this almost century old iconic Bengali Cabin Style restaurant this evening. From white marbel embellished dinning tables to small wooden cabins, they still hold the old calcutta charm. We have ordered their very famous egg moghlai parota, which is very tasty as expected, posing a think crust & soft texture accompanied with dry aloo dam & salad. Later we have ordered their Fish pakoda (4pc in a plate) & Fish batter fry, both of them tasted very identical & pretty avarage (except their shape & size) though the fish used inside is fresh & of good quality. Service is decent & staffs are cordial. You may try once for experiencing by own self. The busy kitchen proves it's popularity.

Although in North Kolkata better options are available as well. Keep cash in hand, because online payment option might not be available...

You can visit any time as it's not very crowded.

Route: If you are coming from Khanna/sovabazar metro (just in case if you are not coming from ganga ghat) you can take an auto to BKPaul park more if auto is not taking the sovabazar street route for sovabazar ghat and then from there it is 5mins by feet. Service was good but it can be better like the they can available tomato ketchup and kasundi on table and listen to the customer properly before taking order.

My order: mutton chop(size was great but don't expect mutton in that price basically it's an alur chop with few pieces of mutton charbi), chicken moghlai(good), fish kobiraaji(too much oily but taste was good)

Of course you can visit this place with your friends/family if you have a short span of time or want to have a vintage old tastes of...

I had ordered mughlai paratha, mutton braised cutlet, mutton kosha and fish roll. All the items were quite good. However, I was blown away by the mughlai paratha and the mutton kasha. The paratha was both soft and crunchy with an awesome taste. Mutton kosha surprised me a lot. I have'nt really come across any restaurant recently, offering such good quality mutton. Mutton was really soft, well cooked and not very spicy. It did'nt have the unnecessary spices which for me, takes away the real taste of mutton. And yes only Rs.180/- for four tender mutton pieces. Quite cheap ! One should'nt be fooled by the look of the restaurant (it's probably because they are quite serious about their quality and that too at an affordable price), they will pleasantly surprise you!!
