Fly Kouzina — Restaurant in Kolkata

Myself along with my family visited this restaurant at Sarat Bose Road for an important occasion on 30-Sep-2024 at IST 8.00 PM with a booking in place. The restaurant was empty when my family arrived but the waiter attending to me was not interested at all to serve and kept saying we don't have this dish and rejected 3 of our dishes which we tried to order. On seeing our frustration building, someone else came and said they would prepare it. We ordered alot of starters and it was going somewhat okay till here.

My relative was just playing with spoons and plates ( did not scratch any of it, did not break any of it either ) was twice warned by a waiter and asked not to do in an unacceptable manner.

Coming to the food, the main course was absolutely pathetic with paneer being old and low grade variety being used. I complained about the food being salty and even offered them to taste but no heed was given. The paneer was raw and we had returned almost 2 full plates of the vegetable items and no remorse was shown to us by either replacing or being sorry of it by the waiters. They kept signaling each other about something but did nothing for the poor quality food served. Rice and dal were bland and we had to get up without desserts because of the poor food quality. I even made the manager aware of it but he did nothing. I asked for the owners' number but that could not be provided as well.

A bill of 5000 was slapped with such poor quality and few items being returned. My family was distraught and has ruined my important day. Waiters are rude and arrogant. Giving one star only because 0 star rating or even negative rating...

For the main course, the Pulao was aromatic and cooked to perfection, serving as an excellent accompaniment to the Paneer Hariyali. The paneer was soft and infused with fresh herb flavors, making it a standout dish. To conclude our meal, the Oreo Cheesecake provided a sweet and creamy finale, balancing the meal beautifully.

This is another beautiful vegetarian restaurant and they have made changes since I last visited them. Located close to Paddapukur, this has ample veg restaurants nearby but stands out. They also run a chain of restaurants in Kolkata - Kouzina Mining, Kouzina Biryani Co.,Namak and Kouzina Express. Coming to the order, we order it’s exotic Broccoli Almond Chowder Soup which is our standout for this restaurant. Have not got a better comparison in Kolkata till date.

We also ordered Hot and Sour soup which was good but nothing different.

Coming to the starters, we tried Cheese Burst Mushroom which was exquisite and lovely. They used boat shaped carving.

In the main course, we tried their chef special Baag-E-Subz which was having gravy mixed of different vegetable and is a must have. For the rice, we tried something different with Yellow Dal Tadka. We loved it but kaali daal is much better though.

Fly kouzina is a must visit place for all veg lovers.

Just one thing, I would like to request Fly Kouzina Management. We would like to pay service charge on our own terms. Not based on our bill. So inserting it automatically as 7% of the bill is not a good practice specially when we do not know if it is going to you...
