A Perfect New Spot for Vegetarians – Khao Piyo Muskurao!** 🌱🍽️🎬
Just like its name suggests, Khao Piyo Muskurao – eat, drink, and smile – because happiness is definitely served on the plate here!
This newly buzzing vegetarian eatery in Kolkata is making waves, and for all the right reasons. With a Bollywood-inspired theme, the place is packed with quirky, food-flavored takes on iconic movie dialogues, colorful décor, and a menu that knows how to impress — at least when it comes to starters!
⭐ What’s Hot (Pros):
The Starters are Blockbuster Hits!
Don’t leave without trying their Palak Patta Chaat – it’s the showstopper! The Vada Pav, Kathi Rolls, and other street-style delights are full of flavor and flair.
Fun Bollywood Ambience
Think catchy lines like “Khaana toh sirf ek bahaana hai, asli mazaa toh muskuraane mein hai!” Walls are decked with Bollywood posters and food puns – total Instagram material!
Great for Group Outings*
Perfect for families or a hangout with friends – everyone will find something to snack, sip, and smile about.
Valet Parking Available (Free of Cost!) Major convenience in this area.
⚠️ What Needs a Sequel (Cons):
Main Course – A Bit of a Flop Show
The variety is limited, portions are on the smaller side, and taste-wise it doesn’t match the high of the starters. If you're coming for a full meal, you might leave a bit underwhelmed. Still, try it once.
Too Much Hype = Long Wait Times*
The place is trending, so don’t even think of walking in without a reservation.
Book ahead via Swiggy Dineout or the District App, and it’s best to call and confirm too – walk-ins usually end up waiting.
📍 Location:
Right beside Fly Kouzina, just 5 minutes from Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Sarat Bose Road, Kolkata.
✅ Verdict:
A must-try for every vegetarian in town!
Whether you’re out with family or catching up with friends, this place guarantees a flavorful and fun time – at least for the starters and the vibes. Just don’t go expecting a full-course meal experience.
Khao, Piyo, Muskurao – and don’t forget to book...
Read moreWe went to zamana at 1.30 pm on Tuesday afternoon, with a guest and ordered our favourite dishes including khamiri naan with pindi chhole as we wanted our guest to try the delicious khamiri naan. To our disappointment we found that it was horrible tasting and smelling. We thought that this was not khamiri naan and asked the server whether it was the right order, when he affirmed that it was, we tried to eat it not to make our guest feel embarrased. We then again told the server including 1 of the senior staff that the khamiri naan was not good. He simply said that ok, I will let the chef know. Without any apologies or without any effort to let us have a replacement, he was happy with the situation. The restaurant was far from half full and on getting the bill, once again we told another senior service staff that the naan was awful. This time he asked whether we would like another one, but this offer came too late when we had finished our food. We said no and asked for the bill. On a previous ocassion we had a reelo offer which was unused and we remembered to ask a senior staff if we could use it this time. It was agreed last time at Debosmita's instructions that since we could not have a dessert owing to medical reasons, we would be allowed to get a small side instead. Again, the service staff offered a jalebi, with absolutely no other alternative. On reminding him of the previous agreement, he cheekily said that I have taken the khamiri naan off the bill. This is absolutely atrocious and kind of an example of ridiculous customer service without any apologies or a feeling of guilt. The service staff seemed proud that he had taken control of the situation. Without any more fuss, we paid the bill not to embarass our guest and walked out, but have vowed that we would have never walked into zamana again, if this was our first visit. We would not expect this standard of food and service from a renowned group in the hospitality industry, bearing in mind that what should come from the Ambuja Nevatia family needs to...
