Oro Café & Lounge – New Avatar of Goofys Café — Restaurant in Kolkata

I visited this cafe after seeing all the reviews. The ambience is more of a hookah bar/club than a cafe. The service was really good. The lack of ventilation was something I didn't like. For people who don't smoke, it is irritating that there's smoke everywhere.

We ordered masala potato wedges, chicken Mayo sandwich, virgin mojito and aglio e olio. The wedges were really good. Chicken sandwich was generic, but the mojito was bang on. The mint and lime was really well balanced. The pasta was below average: not cheesy or creamy at all. The pricing was above average, in line with general cafe pricing.

Nice brunch place. Good for small bites. The ambience was more or less good and the vibe was great. The food was okay. We ordered BBQ chicken wings, Grilled chicken pizza, sizzler brownie with ice cream & cranberry beer (non alcoholic). The wings had more flour content than we expected, pizza was average & a bit overpriced & although the brownie was good, the waiter dropped the ice cream in the sizzling plate while serving, making it less charming. The brownie too was a bit overpriced. Also, this place didn't provide us wifi. The staff was good, they were cordial although they took our phone number even before we ordered something. I was at Goofys Cafe a week back and it was such a wonderful experience. This place is quite a find near Girish Park Metro and serves quality food at an affordable price. Starting from Chicken Strips to Pesto Pasta, I loved every single item we tried. The seasonings used in every fried chicken item is something that will make you want more. Loved their chello kebab platter and chicken lollipop as well. The amount of sauce and richness in their Pesto Pasta is amazing. You're sure to lick the plate clean.
