One of the oldest and traditional Gujarati vegetarian eateries in kolkata named GUJRATI HOTEL .. two stories eatery … ground floor is takeaway and first floor is dining area … mostly frequented by office goers ….but this place acts as a meeting place of business men who discuss over small snacks and tea ….. the typical Gujarati dishes are available but they also serve South Indian dishes like vada utthapam dosa idli also ….. this showing the cultural mix of gastronomic ethnicity…. I took a dahi kachori a small kaju barfi and felt good the food was good and served in a jiffy …. Sharing few pics of the place… this place is visited mostly by businessmen… and office goers during daytime and evening also ….. vey cosy place for nice chit chat adda …. The food is served hot and good service and long chat over piping hot tea is what makes this place very much...

One of the great, many places to grab a quick-bite of a snack or even a proper lunch meal, if it pleases you. The place serves a variety of snacks, from Samosas to Dahi Vadas, from Dosas to Dhoklas, along with tea and coffee and several sweets such as Gulab Jamun, Kalakand, etc. If you can handle eating/dining at a place without air-conditioning, then there is no reason for you to not like this place. They also sell various packaged items of snacks for get-go. P.S. - When ordering Aloo Bada/Samosa/Kachori, the Chutney that you get is absolutely out-of-this-world. There is not another place on Earth where you'd find the Chutney, that is served here. It's so amazing, you'd end up ordering more n more Samosas only to get more n...

Though they call themselves Gujarati they don't serve Poha in the mornings. Not that they should but general perception is that Dhokla is fine but Poha too should be there...added to that they also sell all South Indian snacks from Noon onwards.

They Kachori Chutney is indeed very good and you must give it a try. The place if frequented by the local office goers.

There is no place to park anywhere close to the hotel.
