I found myself in burger heaven earlier this evening. Picture this: Elvis crooning in the background, the aroma of sizzling burgers wafting through the air, and the inviting ambiance of a retro rock café that is Macazzo, a gem tucked away in the heart of Kolkata.
Their pulled pork burger was a symphony of flavours, each bite more tantalising than the last. The pork was cooked to perfection, and the bacon was the cherry on top, a chef's kiss indeed! Accompanying the burger was a side of fries, the perfect partner in crime. They were the Robin to my burger's Batman, the Watson to its Sherlock. Together, they made for a meal that was nothing short of spectacular. Only thing missing was the crunch factor. A few slices of pickle or some slaw inside the burger would have been nice.
My mum opted for the chicken steak burger. The verdict? Two thumbs up!
Now, let's talk about the drinks. My cappuccino, unfortunately, was a bit of a letdown. It was like a strong, burly lumberjack in a cup - too much espresso, not enough milk and foam. My mum's brownie shake, on the other hand, was a sweet, chocolaty delight. It was like a hug in a glass, comforting and delicious.
The staff? Oh, they were the real MVPs! Polite, attentive, and efficient - they made the evening even more enjoyable. It's clear that they're playing the long game, focusing on quality and consistency to keep food lovers coming back for more.
A meal of two burgers, a coffee, a shake, a diet coke and a small bottle of water cost us a round figure of 1,200/-.
Can't wait to go back and try more of their...
Read moreVisited this place today for lunch...Being someone who has been part of this industry since day 1 this place has really please me...Located near Menoka Cinema..I came from Lake View road so it was the opposite route...No worries in tracing the place as it is very conveniently located..Ambience is great..Very courteous staff..Wonderful music and service..Coming to the food..It was wonderful overall.. I had the Meat Overload Pizza...which I devoured within minutes....It is one of the best pizzas in town...480 again reasonably priced....Meat falls off the base...It is that much... Next was the Darjeeling Pork Platter again...great...Personally I liked the Meatloaf most.... Next I had the Mixed Chicken Platter with Wine Jus...I could not finish it...So I took it back....Chicken Roast was good..It could have been more moist though...Kebabs were good..Parsley Rice not good though....Corn dry...Other accompaniments were good..I also had ketchup and mustard mayo with my Pork Platter...Overall good...Please order as per your convenience...It is sumptuously portioned....Take their advice if necessary.....I have a large appetite and hence could eat that much....The Pizza itself is very fulfilling for most...One thing though service time could be quickened...Overall very satisfied.
Visited on the 17th of July again....Tried Pork Marsala...Amazing..Had their famous Meat Overload Pizza....Truely lives up to its name....Enormous toppings falling out of the Pizza...
Read moreWe visited Macazzo again on Nabami after having a great experience the first time. The steaks and garlic bread had left a lasting impression, so we decided to go back. I called ahead, and the manager informed me that they had just returned from a tour and would open late. He promised to notify me when they were ready, and true to his word, they did. We arrived around 4 p.m.
Here’s what we tried:
Pork Manchurian (dry) – A classic dish, perfectly tossed in sauce and garlic. It made for a great appetizer, with a well-balanced meat-to-fat ratio.
Tenderloin steak – The highlight of our meal. Two pieces of tenderloin were served, and, as promised, there was absolutely no fat—something rare when ordering steak in Kolkata. We chose a wine and cream sauce to go with it, accompanied by mashed potatoes, veggies, and, of course, garlic bread. Everything was excellent, just as we remembered.
To wrap up, our visit to Macazzo was just as delightful as the first. The attention to detail, from the perfectly cooked steak to the flavorful appetizers, was impressive. The service was prompt, and the ambiance added to the overall experience. It’s rare to find a place in Kolkata that maintains such consistency in both quality and hospitality. Macazzo has definitely earned its spot as one of our go-to places for a...
