Sharma Tea is not just a tea shop; it’s an emotion for countless Kolkatans. What started as a pure vegetarian Marwari snack joint has become an absolute sensation among the local Bengali community, proving that good food transcends all boundaries. Located in the heart of the city, this legendary eatery serves up some of the most delightful snacks and beverages that keep people coming back for more.
The moment you step in, the aroma of freshly brewed tea and fried snacks fills the air, creating an irresistible urge to indulge. Their kulhad chai (tea served in an earthen cup) is hands down one of the best in town—perfectly brewed, rich, and aromatic. But it doesn’t stop there! Sharma Tea has mastered the art of making quick bites that are both satisfying and full of flavor.
Here are six must-try items that make Sharma Tea a crowd favorite: Kesar Chai – A luxurious, fragrant tea infused with saffron that leaves a lingering taste of royalty. Read moreTitle: A Lovely Breakfast Date Amidst the Bustle
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently visited this place for a cozy breakfast date, and despite the crowd, it turned out to be a delightful experience.
Upon arrival, we noticed that the place was pretty crowded, offering both outdoor and indoor seating options. Opting for a more comfortable setting, we chose to sit inside. The ambiance was pleasant, with a warm and inviting atmosphere.
One thing that pleasantly surprised us was the affordability of the menu. It offered a variety of options without breaking the bank, which was a big plus for us. We decided to try the dahi vada and dahi kachori chat.
The service was quick, considering the bustling environment. Our food arrived promptly, allowing us to dig in without much delay. The dahi kachori chat was an absolute delight! Priced at a mere 60 for a half plate, it was a steal. The quantity was sufficient for one person with a moderate appetite. The flavors were perfectly balanced, leaving our taste buds wanting more.
We also ordered the dahi vada, priced at 80. While it was good, I personally felt that it could have been sweeter. However, this was just a minor preference and didn't significantly affect the...

Ambience: Total chaos, small place with no tables, just a few plastic stools, lot of people brushing against each other makes it impossible to have any food. Ac but it is not enough to cool the place. Small wash basin. Drinking water not served.
Service: Okayish, not fast. Couple of servers running around to serve too many people.
Ordered: Pyaz Kachori: crispy kachori with nice filling, served with potato and chana sabji, excellent taste. Rs 40 Veg Russian Sandwich: freshly made, white bread with creamy filling of chopped vegetables and mayonnaise, served with tomato sauce and another coriander sauce, served with potato chips. Very soft and tasty. Rs 80 Medium Tea: made with cardamom, made fresh and steaming, can be made without sugar, served in khullar, perfectly made. Rs 35
Overall, food is excellent. However, the cramped sitting on stools with lot of crowd is a big negative to have a comfortable experience. Probably, after the early morning rush it can be less crowded in the late morning time. Recommended...
