Last month we went to Marco Polo and indulged in some absolutely delightful dishes. We tried :
Prawn Cocktail 🦐 A true classic starter - prawns served with a creamy cocktail sauce. The prawns were fresh, juicy, and perfectly complemented by the sauce, which had the right balance of creaminess and sharpness. A refreshing beginning to the meal.
Bekti à la Meunière 🐟 This dish was the star of the table – a delicate filet of Kolkata bekti cooked in a lemon cream sauce with just a touch of red chilli and sliced onion, paired with fragrant parsley buttered rice. The fish was incredibly fresh and literally melted in the mouth, with the creamy sauce adding richness and balance. A perfect blend of subtle spices.
Grilled Bekti 🔥 A traditional preparation, the grilled filet of Kolkata bekti was served with a luscious lemon butter sauce and lightly tossed vegetables. The char-grilled flavour enhanced the natural sweetness of the fish, and the citrusy butter sauce gave it a smooth, zesty lift. Simple yet supremely satisfying.
Murgh Malai Nazakat 🍗 This dish featured tender chicken pieces marinated with cardamom, cream, and cheese. The chicken was unbelievably soft and juicy, cooked to perfection with a melt-in-the-mouth texture. Served as six well-portioned pieces on the plate, it carried a subtle richness with the fragrant hint of cardamom that made it stand out.
Mixed Fried Rice 🍳 A wholesome and flavour-packed bowl of fried rice that came generously loaded with chicken, prawn, and egg. The balance of flavours was spot on not overly oily, with each grain of rice separate and perfectly seasoned. A complete meal in itself and a perfect companion to the side dishes.
Kung Pao Chicken with Cashew Nuts 🌶️🥜 A vibrant Chinese classic, this dish was absolutely finger-licking good! Juicy chicken tossed with crunchy cashew nuts, and a savoury-sweet sauce created a perfect medley of textures and flavours. The slight heat, combined with the crunch of cashews, made it truly addictive.
✅ Overall Experience: Marco Polo served up a memorable meal with a fine mix of Indian, Chinese, and Continental flavours. The quality of ingredients, freshness, and balance of spices made each dish shine on its own. Definitely...
Read moreFaced with absolute nightmare today!!!! Behaviour of Soumen Banerjee (Don't know if that's the real name) was insanely horrible! yes, I am forced to use such extreme adjective. I have been going to Marco Polo, Sarat Bose Road for years now ( more than 10 years running) and this is the first time such incident took place. Such misbehaviour by him mostly that he even told us to go out after fully paying the bill and everything. may be they were looking for some tips but we paid online. They started behaving badly over having Saunf and made a scene about it. I should recommend everyone to think before going there. They are being haughty about their standard while they have zero standard in terms of behaviour now. Before it actually had class now horrible behaviour only! We had a birthday in the family today and we are gravely disappointed with such service after dining, over something as little as saunf. May be it's time Marco Polo Sarat Bose changes its manager and staff before they turn into an absolute hell for its loyal customers. I don't know after such incident if I ll be going again and I ll make sure to inform about this to all my friends and family. I don't think we deserved this behaviour after being loyal to Marco Polo for years now. We are thinking of informing this to the top management aswell. I have a video of him misbehaving with us so may be we should...
Read moreIf you are looking for a fine dining experience, like silent and sophisticated, then you are at the right place.
So few weeks ago I visited there with my friends.
🍕The place is very quiet. 🍕The tables are at very distant position from each other. 🍕The stuffs are also very polite and sophisticated.
So we ordered:
🍕Spicy Lemon Fried Chicken 🍕Man Chow Fried Rice 🍕Yang Chow Fried Rice 🍕Sliced Lamb in Honey and Black Pepper 🍕 Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce
Pros: 🍕The quantity of the items are very good. 🍕The quality is also worthy.
Cons: 🍕 The lamb dish was bad from both quantity and quality side. That is very very less from price to proportion view. Also the taste is too sweet for a main course dish
But after all a very elegant dining experience and very good ambience.
Maybe it is not so good for insta photos but worthy of every penny you are gonna spent.
Also one thing to mention, in zomato it is written 1400/- for two. But in reality with out alcohol 1500/- is good for 4 people.
So go with your family and friends and enjoy a fine...
