For the last one year, I watched a lot of reels on this cafe based on its aesthetics and quality of food served, and today I got the chance to visit this cafe myself.... Honestly speaking, I would've missed something great if I wasn't able to visit this cafe owing to the lovely experience I had.... A perfect place to hangout with your friends or to have a date with your partner with mild music playing in the background and the aroma of coffee tingling your nose.... Speaking of decor, the look of the cafe is subtle and homely, yet remarkable and amazing, something at which you'll keep on gazing.... The ceiling decor and the interior is of its own kind, with cozy and compact seating arrangements, one that has never been seen anywhere, "bangaliana" punched with "pahadi" vibes....
Even the presentation of food is of its own kind.... I had ordered a Mocha coffee and Smoked Chicken Sandwich, each of them tasted really marvellous.... The coffee was served to me with a sugar candy, called "batasha" in bengali, for extra sweetness if needed instead of providing a sachet of sugar which was unique indeed.... The portion size of the sandwich with added crispy potato fries is sufficient for a person and the amount of chicken in the sandwich is huge....
The service was also really quick and efficient, with two ladies catering to the needs of the people visiting the cafe and seeking customer satisfaction and recommendations through their cordial behaviour.... In a nutshell, my experience in this cafe was really awesome and I'm eager to visit this place again with my friends anytime soon.... Although I had a sandwich today, I recommend trying their momos, kothey and thukpa, which are their best-selling delicacies....

Read moreKolkata’s new Art Café is situated in a quiet lane, a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Southern Avenue. The café’s exterior, with the iconic triangle/circle/square logo, catches your eye as you approach the entrance located at the crossing of Dr Sarat Banerjee Road and Maharaja Nandakumar Road. The interior offers a charming display of baskets suspended from the high ceiling. The seating is a mix of chairs, stools and benches, with a variety of potted plants placed near the patches of sunlight streaming through the large windows.
The odd spaces available in the century-old building have been thoughtfully utilized, with the tables located in the spacious front room, while the counter is accommodated in the passage which connects it to the kitchen in the rear. There is a small unisex washroom with a clean and fresh ambience.
The café’s small but select menu offers not just Indian, but also Nepali, Chinese and Tibetan delicacies. We tried the delectably hot Tingmo (soft fluffy layered buns), which seemed to be straight from the oven, while the accompanying aloo dum was amply spiced. That was followed by Iced Mocha, which turned out to be a perfect blend of coffee, milk, chocolate, sugar and ice. As a special treat we ordered the Coffee Crumble, which tasted as good as it looked!
Art Café’s staff, dressed in cheerful orange uniforms, provided prompt and courteous service. The prices seemed quite reasonable. We found that the owners like to interact with guests and obtain instant feedback.
This is a great location not just for singles and couples, but also for...
Read moreSo me & my friend had gone to catch up after a long time & since I missed her birthday recently, I decided to give her a little surprise. This was our first time & I did a lot of research before visiting this place. As cafes in Kolkata has become very monotonous, boring & over hyped. We were surprised by the AMAZING food - you have to try the Chicken Kothey Momos !!! I've never ever been a fan of kothey momos as they've always turned out to be chewy. These were super soft, crunchy and the juiciest momos in town!!!
The Chicken BBQ Pizza was unexpectedly too good!!!! We don't like thin crust pizzas but this was delicious!
So I couldn't decide if we should take two cold coffees or just one. The server was so helpful to suggest we go for 1/2. It was good!
But the start of the evening was the scrumptious FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE!!! It was mind blowing to say the least! I've had desserts at Sienna to Patisserie by Franziska! This is the best in town!!!
The staffs - the owner is a very sweet person who is very warm to the guests. She loves conversations with the guests which makes you feel comfortable and adds a homely vibe to it. This is something you won't find it any other cafe in Kolkata! The staffs are super helpful and friendly. They arranged for a candle last minute on my request to surprise my friend! Overall, experience was really really good! The ambience is very warm and cosy. The place is decked up well. I like how they've added 'gamcha' style curtains on the windows and 'Kulo' style baskets hanging on the roof.
We can't wait to visit soon to try rest of the dishes!...
