This place is downright pathetic. Considering the generally unsavory state of dining choices in North Kolkata regarding hygiene and comfortability, this place falls woefully short of those paltry expectations. The client has a choice to be seated either inside in an air-conditioned section or outside with no air-conditioned section provided outside; one must dangerously balance precariously on plastic tables and chairs set on the street.
In the air-conditioned section you could get into a cabin, but that creates many problems. The chairs are dreadful; I am 6 feet 1 inch tall and had a significant task and effort just to get somewhat comfortable because the chairs are so small, there is very little room in which to move. Further, the space is restricted to a mere 16 people and the air-conditioning system is completely inefficient. The kitchen is adjacent to the dining room, and although a door divides the room from that of the kitchen, the cramped quarters of the kitchen is always smeared with dense smoke, making it hazardous. One is forced to cough uncontrollably every time the door is opened.
Tables extremely oily; they are far from clean. Now, on to the food: it is, plain and simple, disgusting. Back of the dining room provides handwashing but no sanitizing materials are provided. The guests are provided with only one spoon to eat the mutton, which is not a practical spoon for eating this type of food. Though the prices are quite reasonable, they are more than what the horrible food is worth to pay for such abominable food.
I ordered vegetable rice, which would have fed a child of eight, whereas my friend opted for chicken rice that somehow did not contain any chicken. When we brought this to their attention, they merely pushed in several meager rations of fried chicken rather ostentatiously placed atop her rice—a somewhat mystifying reaction. I had Mutton Kosha for order as it was supposed to have four pieces, but they only gave me three. The mutton piece appeared to be of quite pathetic cuts, and curry seemed like something that was there for all the dishes they serve. The mutton was both very dry and under-cooked-an experience that I can hardly recall about having come across before.
My friend's chili chicken was depicted to contain eight pieces, but it had just six. This raises a rather scary question: how many things can be made a mess all at once? In my opinion, they could just dish out lesser portions in the expectation that nobody will notice. Eventually, my friend ended up suffering with a case of food poisoning, while I had to make several visits to the restroom that night. Under no circumstances would I be able to refer people...
Read moreThe place first of all lacks proper hygiene and cleanliness. You come here you get two different sitting options, AC and NON-AC, in the former, they will take you inside inside a small room which has barely space to move or be comfortable with maximum 7-8 people sitting capacity, while the latter is strictly outside with poor quality chairs and tables, with dirty covers on them, too many insects flying around. The only difference between the former and the latter is that the menu card has a surge of Rs30 on each item inside.
The interior is a very small space for dining in. A basic ambience with absolutely no lights on, and one AC that's not at all working properly, and the fans are even not properly setup. The sitting area is too small. There will be only one person serving to every table, they will provide you a mineral water first telling that it's complimentry and not even provide the option for regular water. The waiting time for the order is minimum as the food was already cooked beforehand, they serve you. We wanted to order mutton biriyani but they said it won't be available, so we were compelled to order chicken only by the waiter.
The food tastes below average. The biriyani was excessively oily and had no taste, the big piece of cinnamon was there in your biriyani, the fragrance of the biriyani spices are excessively strong, the taste overall was bland. The potato piece in the biriyani was not at all boiled propely and was raw and hard like a brick, so we have to waste it. The chicken piece was too small compared to the pricing of it and it was undercooked and it also tasted pathetic. Overall the food quality didn't match up with the pricing. Secondly we ordered Chicken Kosha (as you don't get Chicken Chap here with biriyani), this chicken kosha was too basic, too much spicy and oily with small bony chicken pieces.
At the end the bill comes and you pay the exact amount after gettinng frustrated out of the food quality and service, this waiter asks you a hundred times for a tip. He expects that the bare minimum and inappropriate service he gave deserves a tip (this is the biggest cons of this place, if he would not have asked for it, giving the tip won't be a big deal)
PLEASE DON'T COME TO THIS PLACE PLEASE. THE WORST SERVICE AND THE WORST FOOD QUALITY. AND IT'S A REQUEST TO THE OWNER OF THE PLACE TO INCREASE THE SALARY OF THE STAFFS, THEY'RE IN DESPERATE...
