Scarlet - Aauris Kolkata, Theatre Road — Restaurant in Kolkata

The coffee shop post which prompted us to go there was definitely a paid promotion. The service, pathetic and the food being passed off as something it's not. The cheese fondue had flat long pieces of tough toasted regular bread, so we re dip after biting it off, into a common pot. We asked for the chef , he said that's how they serve it. The veggies were over cooked and "dumped" On the platter. We were still brave enough to ask for the chocolate fondue, which was non existent and we were only informed about it after enquiring about it after 25 mins, inspite of placing the order with the chef. What seemed like the manager, Pritam, who assured us that he is sending out the unavailable chocolate fondue but instead sent out smores brownie which we sent back and no explanation was given for all this goof up, confusion, wait and poor poor service. Why do service providers still think they can fool, shortchange customers and get away with it...........That is what fondue bread looks like, bite size pieces which do not have to be dunked back...

Honestly telling we had very high hopes from this place but we were extremely disappointed. Firstly,it's such a small place enough to accommodate only 15 to 20 people at max. Then to our disappointment they have clearly mentioned 1 on 1 food if you're a Zomato Gold member. But when we unlocked Zomato Gold. They told that out of the 2 milkshakes which we ordered one would become complimentary and we would get only one pasta. The quantity of the pasta was very very less compared to the price and it was just plain in taste nothing great. The pasta that they served us I'm telling about the quantity and taste that any local road side Resturant can also serve us with much better quantity in Rs 70 or Rs 100. The milkshake was just ok. The sandwiches were good and it actually came to our rescue as we were quite hungry. Overall our experience was pathetic from such a high rated place. Scarlet located in Aauris Hotel is a beautiful spot. Recently they have launched an all day breakfast menu for which I came on a food tasting event organised by the property owner. Each of the dishes they served looked so pretty, an Instagramer's delight. They tasted pretty too. Among the things we tried out Egg Benedict was the show stealer and tasted as brilliant as it looked. Then the Egg in a hole which is a bread with eggs put in holes made on the bread. Another beautiful dish to have. Farmer's Sandwich was another wonderful item to try here. What I liked most about is their prices. Considering such a huge property they are serving dishes at much cheaper rate. Most of them are priced between 150-250 INR.
