The Harrington Street Arts Centre — Attraction in Kolkata

Haven’t heard much about this gallery until I got an invitation from Sotheby’s, Kolkata. In fact, I had no idea what to expect from this gallery. But once I started climbing up the wooden staircase of the old British Harrington Mansion to get into the gallery, I stumbled upon our colonial past. The gallery specializes in curating and presenting the artworks of contemporary artists... both local and international. This time it was Silajit Ghosh’s ‘The Quest Within’. Exhibition was spread through four niche and not-too-busy welcoming rooms, restored painstakingly by the gallery proprietors. They say, if you like modern and contemporary art, this might be the place for you. However, I typically think that sometimes contemporary artists are trying too hard to be different and end up being almost the same as many other contemporary artists. I entered here around 2 pm the whole place was empty I was alone looking at the arts actually lost in the arts then the security came he asked me if I'm done I just entered so I said no I just came here but he kept looking at me like he's trying to say that I should leave 🙃 there is a room which was not closed but the security told me it's not open and when I was leaving I saw his happy face like finally this woman is leaving 🙃 so it's a bad experience for me overall the arts...

On 26.03.24....i went here yesterday but the security guard told us that nothing is happening here... I don't know the fact, is it true? Then when we can visit?
