I recently had the pleasure of dining at the newly opened restaurant ( THE BHAWANIPUR HOUSE) located in a beautifully restored heritage property, in Bhawanipore and it was a truly exceptional experience from start to finish. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the elegant and historic ambiance. The owners have done a remarkable job preserving the property’s original charm while tastefully incorporating modern elements. The dining area was adorned with vintage decor, and the soft, ambient lighting entering through large windows created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Now, let’s talk about the food. The menu featured a delightful fusion of classic and contemporary dishes, showcasing a commitment to using locally sourced ingredients. I started with a delicious appetizer ( Touscan Potatoes) and a refreshing Spicy Watermelon Mint Aqua mocktail that perfectly set the tone for the meal. The flavors were fresh and harmonious, and the presentation was impeccable. For my main course, I opted for a chef’s special ( LAHME) and boy was it outstanding !! The dish was a symphony of flavors, expertly crafted to perfection. It was evident that the chefs in the kitchen were not only skilled but also passionate about their craft. The menu offered a variety of options to cater to different tastes, including vegetarian and non vegetarian choices. What truly set this restaurant apart, though, was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring guests had a memorable experience. They provided excellent recommendations, took time to explain the menu, and were always there when needed without being intrusive. This level of service truly elevated the dining experience. To cap off the lunch , I indulged in a delectable dessert ( the melt in the mouth BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE) that was the perfect sweet ending to an outstanding meal. To conclude, dining at this restaurant was a delightful journey through time and taste. The combination of the heritage property’s charm, delectable food, and top-notch service made it a memorable experience. Whether it’s a special occasion or a casual dinner, I highly recommend visiting this establishment. It’s a gem that deserves recognition for its dedication to preserving history while delivering a modern dining experience. Loved every second of being there!! 💜 My favourite being the mango tree in the compound!! 💚

I had the pleasure of dining at TBH, a space that truly exudes love and history. Nestled at the crossroads of two streets, TBH's white and yellow facade stands out beautifully, a testament to its rich history in contrast to the neighboring buildings. The culinary journey at TBH was a delightful exploration of flavors and nostalgia. We started with the Truffle French Fries and Onion Fritters, both offering a crispy and satisfying beginning to our meal. The Chicken Frittella was a savory delight, while the TBH Cheesy Nachos added a cheesy, indulgent twist to our appetizers. Moving on to the main course, the Truffle Fungi Pizza and Pollo Lazio Pizza were a pizza lover's dream. The combination of truffle and mushrooms in the former and the savory goodness of Pollo Lazio in the latter were simply irresistible. The Bolognaise Spaghetti and Pollo Alfredo Pasta were equally delectable, offering a variety of flavors for pasta enthusiasts. For dessert, we savored an Apple Crumble Tart and the TBH Brownie. The Apple Crumble Tart had a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness, while the TBH Brownie was a chocolate lover's paradise. What makes TBH truly special is its commitment to preserving the heritage and charm of Old Calcutta. Beyond being a cafe, it's a place that honors the history of the neighborhood, and you can feel the love and dedication in every corner. In conclusion, dining at TBH is not just a culinary experience but also a journey through time. The food, ambiance, and dedication to heritage preservation make it a must-visit for anyone looking to savor both the flavors and history of Calcutta.

The property is a 3 storied heritage house turned into a restaurant. Location: Situated in the lanes of hazra, this is a gem of a place. Uber/ ola access is ample, but if someone wants to access it via the public transport it can be easily done. One can get down at hazra more, and should take the right turn that is the road towards ballygunge phari, then take the first lane on the right and walk straight and tou are there within 7-8 mins. It is easily accessible if someone comes through bhawanipore end. Then they should take the lane opposite bhawanipore thana, and go straight to reach the destination. Food: The food is superb. It is lip smacking, good amount of proportions, and damn tasty. The options are plenty and people will have ample options to choose from. Their breakfast platter is also quite good. Service: The service deserves special mention. They are very observant and as the place offers ample amount of space to take pictures, they are concerned about the guests comfort. The outdoor sitting at the entrance area did not have any guest at the time we were visiting, and only 2 of us were there taking photos, sitting once or twice for posing. They brought down fans only for our comfort and set them up though there was no guest and we were not going to sit there permanently even. Each and every one was very well behaved and careful. All in all a very nice place, heaven for photobuffs like us to get ample of scenic shots and reels. Pocket pinch is not very high until unless you order a widespread lunch.

Went to the place at 11am on Tuesday for a quick brunch. Nice place and nice food. Courteous staff and great options. The afternoon sessions don't serve burgers and sandwiches (only available after 5pm). Ao settled for appetizers and mains....and ao glad we could. Had the truffle and parmesan fries ...to die for. Crinckly cut golden potato fries with truffle oil and parmesan sprinkled on the top - perfectly salted and the oil gives an amazing aroma which stays with you. Must try. Following this, had the vegetarian mushroom risotto and the chicken steak in creamy mushroom sauce.

RISOTTO - Not a ton of places get the risotto right...even 5 star kitchens struggle. This one was just right. Perfectly cooked Arborio rice with diced mushrooms, truffle oil...topped with grated cheese. Do add freshly ground black pepper (they have a pepper mill to help out) and wallah - the dish is catapulted to the NEXT LEVEL

GRILLED CHICKEN - Great combination of meat and sauce and the best part being the breast was diced up and tossed around un the sauce. So each piece had the flavour embedded in - rather than a breast with sauce smothered over and no flavour inside. Drizzled lightly again with truffle oil... awesome combo.

I kid you not... I am a foodie and steaks across Peter Cat, Mocambo and Chapter 2 are great...but this place could soon become the next IN thing in continental if they can retain the chef and the quality.....

Phew enough said..

Why not 5 stars? The DECOR inside on the first floor seating area could easily have been oomphed up with the traditional "purono jomidar bari" or "thakur bari" style ...with kori Kath... Hath pakha...heavy drapery... Stained glass windows... murphy radio sets... Gramophone sets ... chandeliers ....the list could go on and on and onnnn.... But what we are faced with is some good furniture but bland decor ... Modern spot lights staring in your face... And UN-imaginative light fixtures hanging around.... Shows lack of thought on design for such a large place.. ... Really...larger than any other coffee place I know... (Other than the Newtown Coffee house which has great size but awful food)... Your heart would itch ....and say..".if only if I could influence the interior decor"....

Well ho...
