Bread n Brown A Unit of Rajabarley — Restaurant in Madurai

Elders used to say "you have to toil 10s of years to earn good reputation but that reputation will be blown to pieces by an act of wrongdoing. It happened here. I am a big fan of Bread and Brown coffee, icecream cake and pastries from the date of their inception. But I hate their seating and arrangements. Last week I asked for jumbo sandwich bread. It was not in the display.So.a lady who was not in uniform... in the counter asked a cook in sandwich counter near kitchen "do we have jumbo bread over there?" He blinked for a moment looked at me and then started to assemble something. I thought he is playing "Mangatha". Later I realised that he was infact collecting the bread slices around him. Here icing in the cake is yet to come. Feverishly working for few minutes came out of his cubicle and handed over me a awkwardly laminated paper parcel containing slices of gathered bread. I was resigned but furious ...refused to take that parcel and came out. 26 years of management training taught me dos and don'ts in a counter. Still I am wondering what prompted these people to...

Decent place to sit and hang out in Madurai, but definitely not the best. They have a good variety of cakes, bread and cookies. My go to here are the samosas, particularly the mini ones, and the best time to get hold of it is at noon. Else you might only end up with the big ones. They are decently priced (15) but extremely spicy. Fries get served fresh here, right off the freezer and into the vat. But with time, I've noticed their portion size to have gone down. Coconut buns is another go to for me here. Overall, the quality of food is good and the place is decent for a sit down. I really wish they were following the covid rules more stricter by having a mask mandate for their staffs, temp check and sanitizer...

[May 2023] Both veg and non-veg options are available for sandwiches/pizzas etc. Mainly a bakery which serves burgers, fries, ice creams along with cake items. Seating space is very small, had to wait for almost 30 mins to get seat and staff was hurrying us to finish food quickly to make space for others. Limited parking space available for 2 wheelers in front of the building. [Update : July 2023] Visited this place again and they served paneer roll without any paneer in it and just vegetables. Complained to the manager and they had placed the blame on another company which supplies the rolls to them! No...
