Harish Mess — Restaurant in Madurai

On 14.3.2025, i visited Haresh Mess, but the quality was not to expected standard. Mutton Nalli Kulambu was not fresh The bine marrow was hard. I read YouTube good reviews about Harish Mess Madurai. Over rated in taste and quality. I am disappointed with youtube over ratings. I visited on 18th April 2024. I travelled straight with high expectations from Madurai Airport. We ordered mutton chukka, Pichupotta Natu Koli. Mutton Nelli kulambu, prawn masala, Veraal meen varval and Nandu crabs. I must mention that the prawns and crabs were not fresh. The smell was bad. Only the Koli and Mutton was ok. The mutton balls were not as good as other restaurants. I am from overseas and have eaten in many South Indian foods in many South Indian restaurants. My personal assessment with Harish mess in Madurai was not fantastic or vow cooking quality and fresh seafood. I have eaten in Chandran Mess, Kumar Mess,Konar Mess, and Amma Ness in Madurai for the last 30 years. I will not pay high prices for poor fresh seafood dishes and not worth eating at Harish Mess. I wanted to share my experience at this restaurant. Honestly, the food is on another level—it's absolutely delicious! Every item on the menu is top-notch and flavorful. I can’t recommend it enough; you really have to come and experience it for yourself.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They can guide you on the best options and make great recommendations. They also regularly check in to see if you need more rice or any other dishes.

However, one area that could use improvement is cleanliness. It’s not a major issue, but I think the restaurant could benefit from a thorough cleaning and better organization. This would make it more appealing to foreigners, who tend to be more conscious of hygiene. While the food is definitely cooked properly, cleanliness is important to many individuals. If they can address this, I believe the restaurant could easily become a four or even five-star establishment for both locals and tourists.

One of the good, quality and taste with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food in this hotel ... Located in chinna chokikulam near OCPM school front gate opposite to city union bank ... it is otherways known as veetu samayal sapatu ... 3 Times mng, aftnun and evening food are available in this hotel ... Milagu chicken and pepper chicken is my favourite food here ... One of the favourite food here is manpanai meen kolambu (fish kolambu) it was good in taste... Other vegetarian food is also good, for veg mostly I prefer chilli parota and kothu parota ... Waiter and services people also treat us good in manner .. but in the afternoon time it huge in crowd so we need to wait for some time to taste the good food ... enjoy your food with your dear loved...
