Alice in Gelatoland & Shahi Durbar — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Date of visit 9th June 2024 I had seen a reel on Instagram. Visited the place in much anticipation. And it didn't even come close to expectation. The place is overhyped than its worth.

Place & Ambience (4/5): The only thing in reels true and affirmative was the ambience. The ambience is rich & fine. Ample indoor & Outdoor seating available. views are good. plenty of parking available. Place is easy to locate on the map.

Food (2/5) : Menu is extensive. but unfortunately most of the items on the menu are not available. The name of the place "Alice in Gelatoland" but only flavours which you cant count on your fingers of one hand are available. If you are going there in search of the Gelato or varieties of Gelato, you'll be disappointed.

I went there to try their Gelatos, Waffles, croissants and if hunger allowed me then some mini pancakes. But I ended up ordering a Cappuccino & a Red velvet Gelato.

Some paid food blogger has mentioned and shown Croissants but it was not available. Whichever waffle I was ordering was not available. same went with mini Pan cakes.

One or two items, in worst case scenario 3-4 items on menu are not available is understood, but half the menu is not available is quiet unprofessional for such a large establishment.

Cappuccino (3/5): It was as average as any other cappuccino, but any other place your barista will make some good arton your coffee.

Red Velvet Gelato (3.5/5): Out of "5" available flavors, I opted Red velvet. The server just filled the small cup, no representation to it.

Service (1/5): I can't rate below 1 that's why only one rating out of 5. First the servers don't even know the dishes, flavors. Its pure ignorance and carelessness. They don't know and they don't care. Lack of knowledge and lack hospitality training and further attitude makes their service worst. Their lack of understanding & passion towards the menu compels them to call every gelato an Ice-cream. I have been to establishments where servers have emphasized patrons over Gelato being different from ice-cream.

Its a self service establishment, but they don't even provide the tray to carry your order to the table, upon asking for the same they said there are no trays.

I was sitting outdoor, while carrying my order outside, there was one staff standing near the door (a self-closing one) but he didn't even care to open the door for me as my both hands were full. That's how the staff is careless, rude, inhospitable, uncultured and discourteous.

If any negative rating could have been given I definitely wouldn't have cared to give in negative.

The place is overhyped than its worth, visit the place for the good ambience, free parking and a quick dessert only if you are ok with your dessert with...

Another update: i received a reply from owner saying we ordered wrong item..We clearly pointed the person taking order that we want this, i confirmed more than twice. If the owner is saying that the one we ordered is different then what about the quantity? The item in display also says its Gulab jamun with rabdi, it doesnt say Dry fruits..at least have the guts to accept rather than arguing..again do not fool customers..display reality.

Updated review: This time we ordered Nutella Brownie Waffle & Mawa Jamun with Rabdi. What is shown in the display is completely opposite to what we receive. Carefully see how the gulab jamun rabdi looks vs how we got. Its very very disappointing. Atleast stick to display or change the display to match the reality. Don't fool customers.

Older review: A dessert heaven for all the sweet tooths. Alice in gelatoland had only 1 branch so far that was in Camp. We were planning to go there for a very long time but today while roaming around in Pimple Saudagar noticed a new development.

Finally I was so happy to see two amazing outlets so nearby to wakad. Shahi Durbar was located in Aundh & we went there on day only to find it closed.

Shahi durbar also is now in the same joint along with Alice In Gelatoland.

They have a huge huge menu of desserts, right from kulfi to rabdi, waffles, gelatos, vegan candies etc etc..just amazing..

We tried their brownie fudge bubble waffle & it was very delicious & wholesome. We also tried their Triple chocolate bubble waffle & as usual it too...
