Famous for local dish "Misal-Pav". I am fan of 'Misal-Pav' and was totally DISAPPOINTED by the dish here. Not only that but I was totally surprised by the crowd who were waiting in Q. Either they were misguided or had not eaten real Misal-Pav dish before. NOT RECOMMENDED, I didn't like it at all and still if you want to try it stand in Q.
Misal basically means mixture of some ingredients. When you talk about Misal-Pav Recipe Misal is a special gravy of Cereal Matki with very typical taste of spice especially made for Misal Gravy and added in it are Farsaan of good quality, chopped tomatoes coriander onion and sometimes boiled potato pieces and cucumber etc. Thus together it forms A MISAL (mixture). But here in this hotel the gravy was boiled hot water mixed with some tasteless spice, chutney, some oil and that's it. No special spice, no Cereal Matki, no Mix Farsan and all that. Just a tasteless gravy (I wouldn't call it a gravy at all) and some Shev (Low quality, called Bombay Farsan which is not made from Gram Flour but cheaper ingredients like waste rice and cereals like peas etc.) added to it and they call it a Misal. Now the second part is Pav , a small unique bread, stand alone type and unique for Misal-Pav. In this Hotel it's a loaf of big bread finally spoiling the Grandeur, majesty, luster and the Splendor of Maharashtrian dish in particular may I say a Kolhapury Dish.
Misal-Pav in this Hotel is shame for Kolhapur and the People waiting outside in Q are idiots taken for ride.
In contrast a Tea Stall (Actually on a hand cart) in front of this hotel serves you the best Tea. Omg I liked it so much that I had it twice. After a total disappointment at Hotel this Tea compensated my...

Phadtare Misal is one of the iconic old spots in Kolhapur that many locals and food lovers swear by. It’s a small, no-frills eatery with very basic seating – don’t expect anything fancy. But what it lacks in ambience, it makes up for with nostalgia.
The misal here is served in a bowl with slices of bread, staying true to the old-school style – just like the way I prepare it at home. The taste is good, subtle, and comforting, though not something that will blow your mind if you’ve had authentic home-style misal before.
Great for a quick bite if you're in the area and want to experience a piece of Kolhapur’s food history. But if you're looking for a spicy, crunchy, or more layered misal experience, there are other...
