Disappointing Experience at Patil Khanaval, Diveagar

I'm writing this review with a heavy heart as I've been a loyal customer of Patil Khanaval for the past 8 years, whenever I visit Diveagar. However, my latest experience was a huge letdown.

We ordered the Surmai fish thali, but to our surprise, the fish was not fresh. When I shared my feedback with the server, he nonchalantly agreed that the fish was indeed frozen. I was shocked and disappointed, but I decided to speak to the owner, hoping he would take my feedback seriously.

Unfortunately, the owner's response was appalling. He simply shrugged it off, saying, "This is what we have to serve; it's your choice." I was taken aback by his arrogance and lack of concern for customer satisfaction. As a regular customer who drives a long way to visit Diveagar, I expect better quality food, especially from a reputable establishment like Patil Khanaval.

What's even more disconcerting is that I overheard another customer sharing similar feedback, which the owner chose to ignore. It's clear that he's more interested in collecting money than ensuring customer satisfaction.

I wouldn't have written this review if the owner had shown some empathy and promised to improve the quality of food. Instead, his attitude has driven me away, and I will never return to Patil Khanaval.

If you're looking for a better dining experience in Diveagar, I highly recommend Rane Khanaval, which is conveniently located near Patil Khanaval.

Advice to the owner: It's essential to listen to customer feedback and take it seriously. A simple apology and a promise to improve would have retained a loyal customer like me. Instead, your arrogance has lost you a regular patron and damaged your reputation.

Long review alert! I was visited Swayam Patil khanaval today from Pune post the lockdown scenario after 3.5 years. The anticipation for having that deliciously surmai thali was unbearable so I reached early around 9am to preorder the thali as they serve lunch post 12:30pm, we placed the order and mentioned that we will be back by 12- 1 after visiting the beach. They never mentioned about the Modak dish that they serve and nor it was not written anywhere near the main entrance so it did not attend in my mind to preorder that, After reaching around 1 pm I saw the modak dish served on the table and genuinely asked the owner if they could serve it with lunch. The owner's response was absolutely rude, insulting and over that he aslo corrected me to have ordered it the morning as they don't take any current orders of modak during lunch time. If know we could have known we would have ordered it prior itself. The surmai thali was not worth it as well.

P.s. - The generous couple who were having the modak dish offered us the modaks but the waiter responded not to do that as it would create a fight at another table as everyone wanted to have one. Customers are being polite than the staff and owner over here. Request you to find another...

I visited here with my parents as it was quite near to the Fintastic Beach Resort where we stayed and one guy at the reception suggested this place. I absolutely don't recommend anyone here, food is so tasteless and definitely not upto the price it is charged. The only reason I saw the crowd here could be it had ample seating space that's it, nothing else.... In this super hot summer and humid weather it's a shaded area with lot of fans ofcourse but no air condition. We had surmai fish thali (pic posted) and veg thali, utter tasteless and also surmai fish fry which was just ok, nothing great to rave about. While coming back towards Fintastic Beach Resort from here, a half km ahead is a simple small homely place called Gayatri khanawal, though they too do not have any great ambiance and air condition but the food was amazing and they served unlimited sabjis, rotis, rice, rice papad in veg thali and fish fry was super crisp and yum, as they say don't judge a book by it's cover.
