I recently had the opportunity to dine at Dubai Darbar, and I must say, it was a bit of a mixed experience. While there were certainly some positive aspects to my visit, there were also a few areas that left me wanting
The food quality is undeniably top-notch. Each dish I tried was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. The menu offers a diverse range of options, catering to various dietary preferences and ensuring there's something for everyone. From the appetizers to the desserts, the culinary skills of the chefs truly shone through.
Another standout aspect of my visit was the exceptional staff. The service was impeccable, with the waitstaff being attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They were quick to address any questions or concerns I had, and their warm and welcoming demeanor added to the overall enjoyable dining experience.
However, it's worth noting that the restaurant is on the pricier side compared to many other establishments in the area. While the quality of the food justifies the higher price to some extent, the portion sizes left me wanting more. The quantities served were somewhat underwhelming, especially considering the price tag attached. This aspect may not be a dealbreaker for everyone, but it's worth considering if you're looking for a more substantial meal.
In conclusion, Dubai Darbar is a place that I would recommend with a few caveats. The food quality is exceptional, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. However, the higher price point and relatively smaller portion sizes may not be for everyone. If you're willing to splurge a bit for a memorable culinary experience, then this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. However, if you're looking for a more filling meal at a lower price point, you may want to explore other options in the area.
Overall, my experience at Dubai Darbar was a mix of highs and lows. While it didn't fully meet my expectations in terms of value for money, the excellent food quality and attentive staff make it a place I would recommend to others, albeit with a...

Read moreI wanted to give a 2 star rating but I decided to do 2.5 just because of the courtesy of the owner. But Google does not have that option so chose to give a 3 star rating. I do food reviews so I don't mind waiting for good food. But on a busy Sunday dinner time the wait time was a bit lengthy. 47 minutes. At least 20 diners were waiting, in fact standing outside the restaurant. There were not enough chairs for the hungry customers so they waited standing and of course sweating at 33°C humid Mumbai temperature. Finally we went inside with a huge expectation and a desire to enjoy a delicious meal because last year I enjoyed the meal in 2024. So I asked the supervisor in the blazer for some recommendations on mutton, which we could enjoy with rice and naan roti. He suggested Mutton Nihari. The worst mutton I ever had. Last year when I was here, we ordered mutton barra, it was too good but today's Nihari was a disaster. It was just boiled mutton in a gravy. Mutton was bland. The mutton did not absorb even a dot of masala or salt. The rice was a bit hard like half done which is used in dum biriyani. So may be because of the commotion the chef just served 75% cooked rice to us. I know it's an expensive menu and people go with expectations of good food but this time I did not enjoy. Maybe I selected the wrong dish. I placed a limited order so that we could have a quick dinner and vacate the spot for others. The staff are always courteous but today they were falling short of staff. Maybe you can add two extra people on weekends. And please provide chairs for the customers waiting outside. The feedback is not to let anyone down but it's for betterment. Will recommend this...
