Being a meat lover, I was searching for a place to have good mutton options in a sea of veg restaurants in Goregaon East, when I found Rogan Tadka.
I had tried non veg food from local restaurants in these first few days in Mumbai and I was less than satisfied. So I just ordered Mutton Sheekh Kabab, which l knew would give me a fair idea of how they cook their mutton and balance their spices. And in case it doesn't suit my palate, I wont have much to waste.
I was pleasantly surprised when the Sheekh Kabab tasted just as it should, with the right balance of spices, without going overboard with it and retaining the original essence and taste of mutton which is the primary ingredient. Served with green pudina chatni, it only enhanced the taste.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the service was timely, as much as it should reasonably take to serve a good plate of sheekh kebabs.
The ambience is average and the prices are also reasonable, maybe slightly on the higher side but I got value for money, so it seemed fair to me. They had steel chairs with no leather seats - they can improve on that.

Read moreI had a terrible experience at this hotel. The food quality was far below acceptable standards, and the service was absolutely third-class. The staff seemed completely shattered and incapable of handling even a moderate number of guests. Every table had people sitting and waiting endlessly for their food, with no one attending or even acknowledging them.
To make matters worse, one of the guests found a strand of hair in the roti. When she raised the issue with the receptionist, the response was shockingly rude—"You should have just returned it." No apology, no concern, and certainly no sense of accountability for basic hygiene.
The waiters were inattentive, disinterested, and some even displayed aggression when approached. There was no professionalism, no courtesy, and definitely no management.
This place seriously needs a reality check. I would not recommend...
Read moreThis multicusine itinerary restaurant situated at Malad East near "Market" area bus stops , opp.to China Hunt multi cuisine restaurant towards Wagheshwari temple road from oberoi mall on the left side. This is known for me on veg dishes and mostly Muslim community visits here . Probably run by a Muslim and Halal food is served only. 2W/4w Parking on road at owners risk. Nearby all garage shops so unauthorised vehicles and tempos are always parked here and there. It's difficult for the R. Tadka customers to find a parking place hardly. Weekends are a tougher situation. Food prices are compared on the higher side if we compare them to the quality and quantity. It seems a cut mark at each place as a cost cutting. The surroundings and atmosphere is not good for families and couples. Though nonveg food lovers can prefer to visit at once. Cleanliness is 5-6/10....
