Do you have days when you don't feel like experimenting new dishes, instead find solace in your all-time favourite basic dishes that are so well made that you need no more?!

I was experiencing just that and decided to visit the very popular Achija.

Now this name has already garnered credibility in Ghatkopar and when it opened in Kandivali, I was really looking forward to trying it out. But ever since it opened, I would see atleast a 100 people waiting outside on any given day, right from Monday to weekends.

Finally, I mustered the patience and visited along with family. And it was worth all the wait!

🔅 AMBIANCE

Beautiful bulbs and lots of artificial creepers on the wooden panelling give it a beautiful & calming effect. There are two sections - AC & Non AC and both are equally good. Only drawback, it's not too spacious and hence cannot host big groups of 25-30 people at once.

🔅 FOOD

✅ Pav Bhaji If you are in Achija, you cannot step out without having their Pav Bhaji. It's a must-have dish that will arrive quickly. #SFFWrecommends

✅Masala Pav This is yet another dish that won't disappoint you.

↔️Masala Pav Bhaji This is a combo of Pav Bhaji and Masala Pav where Bhaji is served with stuffed spicy pav laden with garlic chutney. The overpowering pav leaves no room for bhaji. Avoid, unless you are a spice and garlic fan.

✅ Onion Uttappa Neither too thick nor too sour, crispy and made just right! #yummy

✅ Spl. Pizza Always been a fan of desi udupi pizza topped with regular amul cheese. Loved it.

↔️ Veg. Chopa Masala Recommended by the server but wasn't as good as expected. The server immediately made changes and got a tastier version.

✅ Tawa Pulao Yummy pulao with veggies alongside raita was a perfect way to conclude main course #MustHave

✅ Kulfi Falooda❤️ Kulfi loaded with jelly, choco balls, colourful pearls was not just a visual treat but also a treat to the taste buds. #SFFWrecommends

🔅SERVICE To begin with, I believe there are barely any restaurants that serve complimentary stuff. As you are seated on your table, you will be provided with a bottle of mineral water & just as you are waiting for the meal to arrive, papads will be served and all this is complimentary. Apart from that you will experience courteous staff and prompt service each time visit.

Achija is a Kutchi word which means "come over" and after having lip smacking food like that, who...

It was my Son'd 3rd birthday and we chose to visit the Achija restaurant... (4 adults + 1 kid) On 1st October, 2023 at around 11.15 PM...

But, I should say it was one of the worst experiences, we visited this restaurant on Sunday so it is expected to be over crowded with customers waiting outside the hotel... We got a place to sit after 15 mins of waiting and den we ordered Paneer Hot Pan and Cheese Fondue in starters... while ordering we told very precisely and very categorically that we need it jain i.e. without onion and garlic... God panner hot pan, that was okay with regards to ingredients and was without onion and garlic but was very cold.. so had to request for replacement which should be hot, fortunately we got a replacement which was warm and we could eat it...

Den we got Cheese Fondue, especially for my son, which came with garlic, we called the butler and told him that it contains garlic but he was reluctant to listen to us and was confident that it doesn't contain garlic....

We had to literally find fine pieces of garlic and show it to him and the hotel manager, that's when they agreed that it had garlic... we had to send it back.... Post that, we ordered Mongolian rice, Cheese Grill Sandwich and Virgin Pina Colada... Again we got the Mongolian rice, loaded with a lot of Garlic... Again we called butler and the manager and again they were reluctant to agree that it contains garlic unless we tried hard to find finely chopped garlic pieces and showed it to them... With regards to Cheese grilled Sandwich, it did not had onion or garlic but it was not even grilled and was served cold.... Out of frustration, we just ate 2 pieces of sandwich between 4 of us, paid the bill and left the restaurant....

The restaurant staff spoiled the joy of my son's birthday celebrations....

Advice to hotel owner/management - Please do not entertain requests for jain food if you'll cannot cater to it and please train the hotel staff to be in a receptive mode when any customer is giving any feedback or complaining for anything or when something has been requested categorically....

It had hurt our Religious sentiments very badly and we ve a big regret, visiting this hotel, will never ever visit again and will also recommend our friends and colleagues to not visit this hotel, especially if you'll are looking for...

I had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant today that truly exceeded my expectations in terms of both hygiene and taste. From the moment I entered, it was evident that cleanliness and sanitation were top priorities. The staff members were diligently following proper hygiene protocols, wearing masks and gloves, and regularly sanitizing their hands.

As I perused the menu, I was delighted by the wide range of options available. It was clear that the ingredients used were of the highest quality, and the attention to detail was remarkable. I opted for a vegetable salad as an appetizer, and the freshness of the vegetables was evident in every bite. The crispness of the lettuce, the vibrant colors of the cherry tomatoes, and the perfectly sliced cucumbers all combined to create a delightful start to my meal.

For the main course, I chose a grilled salmon dish. The presentation was impeccable, and the aroma was irresistible. The salmon was cooked to perfection, tender and flaky, with a delicate smoky flavor. It was accompanied by a medley of steamed vegetables that were not only visually appealing but also bursting with natural flavors.

Lastly, I couldn't resist indulging in a dessert, and I opted for a slice of homemade chocolate cake. The richness and decadence of the cake were unparalleled. Each forkful was a heavenly combination of moist chocolate layers and creamy frosting.

Overall, my dining experience was exceptional. The restaurant's commitment to hygiene was commendable, and the food was a culinary delight. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in search of a hygienic and delicious...
