August Cafe — Restaurant in Mumbai

One more café in the heart of Andheri, Lokhandwala, August Cafe is a newly opened baby of 3 months.

A brother sister duo, Daksh and Ruhi, opened up the place wherein the sister is the chef and looks after the kitchen whereas the brother manages front of house. A very happy go lucky people, they make a point to interact with everyone there.

On talking to them, I got to know that majority of good things for the siblings have happened in the month of August and hence the name.

This is a kind of place where one can relax and rewind after a hectic day or just come in for a meeting or just hang around with friends over coffee and food.

Coming to what I tried there :

Cheese Garlic Bread :

A garlic bread like no other, it's the best I have had till date. A layer of mozzarella cheese along with garlic butter, in between two breads makes it different from the garlic breads served in other places. They make in house breads which is the best part.

Herb Butter Gnocchi :

Gnocchi is my favorite Italian dish after ravioli and I always try it wherever available. I absolutely gorged on the gnocchi here. Perfectly cooked gnocchi tossed in a buttery sauce of herbs is what you can expect here. A must try.

Cheese Chilli Toast :

One of the spiciest cheese chilli breads i have had, its the perfect appetizer to have at the cafe. A side of coffee and this bread.

Mexican Bean Burger :

I never have veg burger unless no option. My vegetarian friends ordered this and I had a bite out of it out of curiosity. Trust me, i did not miss the chicken. The patty was made of rajma beans and topped with veggies and sauce. It was spicy too. I loved it and ordered a separate one for me 😁

Chuncky Chicken in Texas BBQ Sauce Burger :

I always expect a burger to have a patty inside it. When this burger came, i expected the same but i didn't see that. In the place of the patty there were chuncks of chicken marinated in barbeque sauce and placed in between two burger buns along with some veggies. A different burger than what is available at different places, i really loved it. They serve the burger along with coleslaw on the side but i think there also should be fries served on the side as a burger is always incomplete without fries.

I also tried their Tiramisu and trust me, it's absolutely amazing. The sponge inside is soft and they soak it with red wine to give it a different touch. The coffee flavor came through very well and the cream was flavored with coffee too. A delicious ending to my day.

Regardless it being a small cafe and being open just for 3 months, it has attracted a very good crowd and also has it's loyal customers coming back for more. Being a weekday evening, it was full and there were people waiting too.

Service was a tad bit slow which i am sure was because of the full capacity but nonetheless everyone was all smiles. An upcoming cafe in the Andheri Lokhandwala area to...

Was in Andheri Lokhandwala area, where I was suggested to check this exciting new cafe opened in one of the bylanes! It's easy to access and locate via maps.

Run by a bro-sis jodi, this cafe serves Continental and Italian food along with some amazing desserts! They have an in-house bakery in the basement which powers a lot of their dishes. A small cozy place (interiors look nice and an outside sitting section) with courteous service, delicious food and amazing desserts.

We tried the Forest Mushroom Soup and Burnt Garlic Chowder Soup. Both of them were stunning. Must try! Those who like Mushroom please go for it, if no then Burnt Garlic Chowder. Both soups are creamy and thick. Yummy!

We then had the August Ceaser Salad, super delicious salad. So those who are diet conscious, would definitely recommend this one. Salad had grilled cottage cheese in it along with lettuce topping, croutons and parmesan cheese.

We then ordered for Cheese Garlic Bread, Herb Butter Gnocchi and Dabeli Cheese Panini. Garlic bread was nice and as I mentioned bread from in-house bakery - Rustic Ciabatta. Herb Butter Gnocchi is brilliant, please do order. They have a given a modern twist to the street food Dabeli. Panini breads, stuffing had peanuts to give that crunchy feel. Please don't expect this to be exactly like the street food Dabeli. It's nice for people open to experimenting.

To go with the meals, we ordered for few mocktails - Shirley Temple, Masala Lemonade and Blackcurrant Mojito. Order of preference, Masala Lemonade (refreshing), Blackcurrant Mojito (nice blend) and Shirley Temple (unique flavour - little sweet)

We ordered few mains then - Mexican Bean Burger, Spaghetti Pasta in Pink Sauce and Half n Half Napoletana Pizza and Veggie Farmhouse Pizza. Super yummy Tikki / patty in the Bean burger, again something you must try. Pasta tasted nice and creamy. Caution - please have it quickly when hot else will become a little dry. Amongst the pizzas I would recommend the Napoletana pizza though the farmhouse had lovely veggie toppings. I loved the taste of Napoletana pizza.

For desserts we ordered the Belgian Chocolate Mousse Pot! For those who don't prefer too sweet, go for this without doubt. Simply amazing! And the regular desserts lovers who have a sweet tooth, please order the Sea Salt Truffle Cake with Chocolate Sauce - Epic and Divine!!

I like to end my meal with tea or coffee. And I ordered for steaming hot cafe Mocha. Extremely well presented and tasted like heaven! Coffee lovers, don't miss this!

Truly speaking was bowled over by this cafe, by far one of the best cafes I have visited in recent times. Would advise all in Andheri and around to try this place and you will love everything...

Mediterranean Platter

The Mediterranean platter is an exotic platter with a perfect Mediterranean touch to it All sorts of delicious eats, piled high onto a platter, so people can nibble as needed. The platter consisted of Hummus along with veggies salad, Harris. At the corner, there was freshly baked pita bread topped with chicken meatballs. Butter sage gnocchi Plain and simple, but totally delicious gnocchi are Pan-seared with butter & sage The addition of sage surely gives a lovely flavour to the dish

Latte Latte is a hand blended milk-based espresso combined with steamed milk, thicker and creamier and in taste, its a perfect cup of coffee every coffee lover would wish to have. It is strong and will give a refreshing Kickstart to your day
