One of the best places in town if you crave for some middle Eastern cuisines. This place has got specialty in serving cuisines from five different countries- Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, Morroco, and Greece.
The ambiance is just wow. Dimly lit with enough lightening. Hanging lights. The ambiance has got the feel of middle Eastern countries. One side of the wall is decorated with some antique painting, mirror, and plates. Comfortable seating arrangements. Clean and eye catching couches. A place with indoor as well as outfoor seating, can accomodate around 100 people- 60 indoor and 40 outdoor.
The service is top notch. The serving staff is well accustomed to their menu. Better take help from them and go with their suggestion. The more I will say about staff, the less it will be. Service is class apart.
The food as well as the drink is just wow. Tried a few cocktails and those were just the way you would ask for.
Dessert storm: A whiskey based drink that comes as a surprise. A perfect clove feel. Well shaken with gulkand. A foam drink with lots of smoke. Comes in a small wooden almirah full of smoke. A picturesque delight.
Smoking old fashioned: Malt sugar with lots of bitters. A heavy drink, I must say. It may hit you a bit. A smoked drink.
After trying two cocktails, we had a take on other side of the drink menu. We tried tea. Tea is a good option indeed.
Istanbul cinnamon apple tea: An apple flavoured tea. Had a perfect him of apple. Nothing much to write about- a good choice. A bit on the sweeter side. Arabic delight. It's not freshly made, prepared with packed ingredients. Served with brown sugar, white sugar, and sugar free along with packed biscuit. Loved the aroma. The aroma in itself id refreshing.
Kadak Chai: A tea with cinnamon and clove feel. A milk tea version. Loved it.
In Appetizers, we started with hot mezze. We started with harissa chicken kebab and lamb kebab.
Harissa chicken kebab: Perfectly grilled kebabs. Six pieces in one serving. Just loved the perfection. Nicely marinated. Marinated with chili and cumin along with coriander. Used preserved chicken but with perfection. Served with cream cheese with jaggery feel. Had onion also along with chicken kebab to boost the taste. Loved it totally. Highly recommended.
Cumin lamb kebab: Another hot mezze that goes as per plan. A Turkish delight. Luscious lamb shredded to form kebab. Served with sea salt and sesame crust. Enjoy yogurt feel. Loved it totally. Highly recommended. A must try option if you love to have lamb.
Another two appetizers were also from hot mezze section.
Kebab Istanbul: Skewers. Tahini sauce made it worth trying. Mint tahini sauce as a dip. Potato fries as a side. Crispy fries goes well with the tahini sauce. Served with onion and tomato. Loved it. Soft and luscious.
Quwarmah: A kuwaiti Delight. Oven baked flat bread with chicken stuffing. Chicken topped with golden fried onion, pomegranate and herbs. This one was boat shaped traditional dish. Nice stuffing. Soft bread.
All the four appettizers were from the hot mezze section. Loved the appettizers. Each of the appettizer was competing with each other to be my best call.
After the appettizers, we had main course. The main course is again as good as appetizer.
Moroccan lemon olive chicken: Farm chicken preserved overnight in Moroccan spices and cooked in onion gravy with chargrilled lemon and olives. Served with rice and sauteed onions. Lemon flavoured gravy. Loved it. A highly recommended main course. Rice had some nuts too. Rice had black lentil in it. Loved the aroma.
Salmon Chermoula: A Libyan delight. Salmon steak with cumin, coriander, and lemon feel. Salmon steak roadted on fire. Perfect roast. Served with green beans, potato, and sauce vierge.
After the main course, we had a couple of desserts. Loved the desserts too. We had baklava and lotus drama.
Baklava: This needs no introduction. One of the most loved desserts. Phyllo pastry with Iranian pistachio and almond. Served with gulkand ice cream. Ice cream made the baklava worth. Had topping of rose...
