Tanatan has left me spellbound and awestruck. It is one of the finest dine in restaurants located at juhu in the midst of many restaurants which hasn't detered Tanatan to make a statement for itself. As soon as you enter you see elegant decor with a lot of bells around, they have ample of space which is perfectly utilised by a variety of comforting seating areas. Their kitchen is visible from every corner of the place, as they have a visible kitchen. And you can see it for yourself how well the hygiene is maintained in their kitchen. The greatest attraction of theirs apart from the delicious & lip smacking food is the live musical nights, which seems to be a bliss for people who love listening to live music. Hence, an extra brownie point for the lovely acoustical night that I enjoyed on my visit. The staff is friendly and ensure that your food is served piping hot to you. We tried both veg and non veg, trust me both are absolutely delicious & will make you lick your fingers!
We ordered 👇
Beverages Cocktails • Sharabi kava - it is scotch whiskey with kashmiri kava & honey, the presentation of the drink is on point as the drink is poured and cinnamon is lit into it. • Gin a bottle - if you are a gin lover then you definitely should have this drink.
Mocktails • Anar ka pyaar - well this according to me is one of the best mocktails ever! This anar gets you falling in love with it, with each sip that you indulge in. • Thanda theeka - It did say hint of chilli but the hint was so much so that i just couldn't finish the drink. If you dig chillies then this my friend is the drink you have!
Shakes • Popcorn Shake - Oh my! this shake was the star of the night. The shake tasted nothing less than a popcorn which is so mind blowingly amazing! it is served along with a very tiny bag of popcorns as well to make it more better for you.
Appetizers
• Chaakori murgh kebab, these kebabs are extremely delightful. The chicken being tender & perfectly spiced, makes it tempting. A must have. • Bhuna chaap these are lamb chops which happens to be their speciality & I've no doubts as to why! They are so delicious that one would love to finish it all by themselves. Highly recommend! • Madras curry fondue - the fondue is infused with madrasi curry which is served along with garlic bread & panneer satay. This is a divine infusion which you must try. • Kumbh khazana is mushroom stuffed with spinach and cheese. This was second favorite veg appetizers & would recommend you'll. The mushroom was super fresh stuffed with crisp spinach & loaded over with cheese. • Sarson broccoli if you are a sucker for broccoli & love sarson then this is your dish. • Dal vadai chatar patar dal vadai is beautifully presented with the hummus on the base of soup spoon, which surely has south indian touch to it (the spices in the hummus)! along with dal vadai on top of it with salad on the side.
Mains
• Laal mass the lamb so tender that it just melts in yiur mouth. The curry is thick and medium spicy which makes it drool worthy. I would highly recommend you to try this dish of theirs. • Maa ke hath ka rajma they have mastered the recipe to make just the perfect rajma and how can you just not try the beans?
Dessert
• Matka rabdi gulabjamun we indians love our rabdi & gulabjamun to the core & the amalgamation of the two has to be the most blissful thing to ever happen. Rabdi being of the right consistency with the hot gulab jamun is just divine. • Chocolate hazelnut fondant with vanilla ice cream this dessert is too delicious for you to not give it a try!

tonight’s dinner experience - 23.11.18 was delightful . We were 8 of us & ordered veg & non veg starters & main course was veg . Overall summary Place is lively , live music is great , singer sings very well , song selection is great . Ambience is nice , place is dimly lit . Service is average for starters but gets slow while ordering main course . Post 9pm the place is full & service dips. Food quality is good , quantity is ok , pricing is a touch high but live music makes it’s worth while . Food becomes cold quite fast due to the strong a/c so order accordingly.
Great ambience, good food, superb live singing make tanatan a hit, service is still slow & food gets cold real fast . Second Visit & ill again give 4/5.

FIRST VISIT
Last Night’s dinner for two @ Tanatan Juhu It cost us Rs 2570/- for two. A bit expensive but the live singing ( singer & song selection was very nice ) was total paisa vasool 👍
Note :- Book a table in advance as their dinner slots are 8:30 & 10:30 pm. It gets full & walk ins have to wait for a long time on weekends. Music is quite loud closer to the singer’s area so try to get your seating towards the back side ( near the live counter )
Pros :- • Nice decor , live singing is really nice , decent staff , overall food & drinks are quite good 👍 Do try their Tandoor items.
Cons :- Lights are quite dim , service is slow once packed , seating for two / four is awkward as one is facing the live singer & the other has their back Seating closer to the Live singer area is quite loud to have a conversation.
Must have :- Tandoor Items - Super 👍 over Fried ones . Palak dahi ke kebab if you prefer less spicy & don’t mind a green veg Bharwa mirch Aachari paneer - paneer tikka with a spicy tinge to it . For spicy lovers - A Must 👍 Veg dilli ki Galiyon se - amazing but don’t forget to order an extra naan or tandoori roti ( you will need an extra one ) . They take a lot of time to get it so order straight away . Drinks :- I prefer their mocktail variety over cocktails here Deserts :- matka rabdi Gulab jamun - signature dish . A must .

Read moreFew places are curated merely not just for food but for an experience to happen when you enter a restaurant. Tanatan is one such place in the suburbs that serves you food to savor your tastebuds and amaze your mind. I was fortunate to visit them for a review. Here is my tale-
Tanatan located in amidst of many restaurants around it yet stands out from the rest. Tanatan is about lavish, elegant décor, ample of space, transparent kitchen, live music gigs is what catches everyones attention. The ambience is to its acme, service is orderly to serve you piping hot food from kitchen to your table. Tanatan is there to serve you Indian gastronomical food in tanatan style to leave you in awe.
TOMATO RASSAM SOUP-
presented in a very subtle yet eye catching manner. With a daal vada crisp and fresh bell pepers blanched seasoned with salt and pepper was like a warm welcome to this place. Rassam was filled with spices, aromatics.
DAL VADAI CHATAR PATAR-
these were dal wada served with their Indian take hummus and fresh salad. Present in a subtle, clean and eye catching way. The hummus was creamy and had a dominant taste of south Indian spices which goes well with the dal vada crisp that are crisp from outside and tender, moist inside.
KHOW SUEY SAMOSA-
I am big time binge over khow suey. These were the tappas that I had my eyes. These are like tasting the whole khowsuey in a bite. The serve it in a shot glass where there is curry at the bottom. These curry is reduction of the whole khow suey in a bite. A must try here. This tappa pairs well with their jal jeera mojito.
KUMBH KHAZAN-
another tanatan favorite for me. I was skeptical on ordering this. However mr. vivek, manager requested to try out. Thanks to him, these were delectable. Rich marination outside and centre filled with cheese bursting their flavors on my tastebuds have made me fallen for them. Served with green chutney its is another dish not to miss out.
NEER DOSA WITH MUSHROOM AND GREEAN PEAS GASSI-
gravy was smooth, rich and creamy. There wasn’t any owerpowering taste of tomato and peas were cooked al dante leaving its flavor with each bite. Mushrooms were cooked well in the gravy making it soft and tender with the neer dosa.
DILLI KI GALIYON SE (VEGETARIAN)-
a tanatan combination bought to Mumbai land comprising of daal Bukhara, paneer makhni with lacha patha. These were presented ina decent manner yet looked so delicious. It was a task for me and my fellow partner to wait. If you like north Indian tadka food, this would savor your taste buds well.
After a garrulous meal there was still space left for their desserts, trying out the dessert ill say its just not meals that they have worked but also curated some dishes to satisfy those sweet cravings well.
RASPBERRY SORBET FALOODA-
sweet falooda paired with their tangy and rich sorbet was delicious and took no time for me and my friends to shine the plate clean.
Tanatan crew had taken well care from their drinks to their food. Food was served piping hot. The kitchen scenes are clearly visible and develops a angst of what the chef is preparing is yours or not. My overall experience here was worth every penny. Ill be looking forward to visit here and binge more on their kkhow...
