Chin Chin Chu - The name says it all. Either it's a Chinese or a Pan Asian. Both i must say. Chef Sagar has done a great job. Young fellow with loads of experience behind him. He does know how to get the flavours in the dishes. Khalid (gm) knows what he is doing, bartenders - Great. Tried the Negroni (perfect) and the Bellini which was made well. One has to try their signature cocktail called Smoked Cheese martini (yes, u got this correct) they have used smoked cheese with a combination of gin and Arugula. Rest - figure out.
Ambiance is amazing/Colourful Vibe and feel is good/Positive and coming to food - tried the smallest Portions that i could ask for -
Dim Sums - Spicy Prawn Har Gao - loved the layer (Thin) with a lovely texture. Minced Prawn with spices and a bit of Bird eye gave that spicy touch to it. Overall good. Veg it was the Edamame and Truffle oil - though the truffle oil flavour was a tad less the texture and the overall Dimsums made up for it. Blended well stuffed well.
Steamed Prawn - Cheung Fun section, a nicely done dish. Prawn/layer of tempura to get that crunchy feel/rice rolled. Presentation could have been better but at the end it's the taste. Went well with the dips and soy. Do try this.
Sushi - If you are a Mushroom fan - try the Truffle Mushroom Sushi roll (normally don't here mushroom as a key ingredient) Here the chef has slow cooked/Boiled the mushroom shredded it and stuffed with crispy onions. Topped with Japanese Mayo. Loved the presentation.
Skipped the Sushi Soul Box Platters/Nigiri/Open Face Bao (Pork belly is supposed to be good)/Bao Buns/Soup - It were the starters -
3 pepper chickens - loved the combination/bold flavours the hit of pepper/spicy. Basically soy with spices/pepper/scallions/celery/bell pepper. End taste = good.
Kung Pao chicken - Loved the presentation. Placed in a nest. Loved the chicken (glaze/sheen) soft/juicy. Kung pao sauce was spicy/tangy/a tad sweet had all the flavours.
(Vinegar/soy/wine/sugar/cornstarch) a bit of peanut sauce/chilli flakes. Cashew nuts enhanced the dish. Go for it.
Chef Made a beautiful Dish in Prawns - Can't recollect the name Flash Cooked prawns i guess. Had a creamy/velvety texture. Fresh Medium prawns made well in Himalayan Butter sauce. Garnish of almond flakes/Bird eye chilli. Something different (basically Flash cooked is a technique if fry the prawns with high temperature for a minimal amount of time) Chinese call it "Bao" or "Explode cooking" Loved the sauce which had subtle flavour. Overall this star dish of the day.
Mains - Japanese Katsu with chicken and jasmine rice - can't go wrong. Texture/balance/spices/flavours.
Desserts - Coffee Mud pie (Fresh) Rich with a lovely texture. Also Try the Japanese Cotton cheese cake with Berry compote (this contains eggs)
Overall - fantastic experience. Fine tuning but that's a part of food. Will be back for...

I started with prawn tempura sushi and crispy chicken cheung fun. Each bite was a delightful explosion of textures and aromas, showcasing the expert craftsmanship of the chefs.
For the mains I ordered a Japanese katsu curry with chicken which was highly flavourful and the chicken was crispy and textured perfectly.
Lastly I ended with tiramisu as the dessert and it was one of the best tiramisu’s I’ve ever tried so tasty and perfect amount of sweetness, it was presented well.

Read moreChin Chin Chu, Juhu, where do I even start? If disappointment had an address, this restaurant would be it.
We spent a whopping ₹6000 for three people expecting at least basic courtesy and decent food. Instead, what we got was an absolute circus of rude staff, hidden charges, and food colder than their service.
The server acted like he was doing us a personal favor by even existing, let alone serving. Forget politeness, he couldn’t even bother to mention the sleazy hidden charges on the menu. The Swiggy Dineout booking CLEARLY stated 15% off on the main bill, but surprise surprise, when the bill came, they magically “forgot” about it. When we brought it up, the manager swooped in, not to help, but to be even ruder than the server. Honestly, if arrogance were a dish, it would’ve been the only thing served hot that afternoon.
And the bill trickery? Stated ₹1750, but somehow it turned into ₹2000. Bravo, Chin Chin Chu, you’ve mastered the art of daylight robbery under the disguise of “fine dining.”
Now the food. Oh, the food. Average, bland, served late, and colder than my enthusiasm after the first bite. For a place once hyped, this was nothing but reheated mediocrity on a plate. Six thousand rupees for cold, tasteless food and the privilege of being treated like trash? Thanks, but no thanks. and mind it, it wasn’t my first time visiting this place, i’ve visited this place almost 3 times this year, the first two times were a good experience, but the recent one was just not acceptable.
Honestly, eating instant noodles at home would’ve been a five-star Michelin experience compared to this nightmare.
Final verdict: Chin Chin Chu should change its name to Cheat Cheat Chu. Save your money, save your time, save your sanity. There are hundreds of better restaurants in Mumbai where they don’t scam you, feed you cold food, and treat you like a nuisance. This place deserves...
