Dakshinayan is an excellent choice to relish South Indian food in the city of Mumbai (they have two branches in Mumbai one at Teenbati Walkeshwar and the other restaurant is located at Juhu close to the ISCKON Temple besides the two restaurants in Ahmedabad, one at Fun Republic Satellite and the other one at Xavier's College cross road). Dakshinayan has won many awards in the food industry and is highly recommended for people interested in being served one of the most authentic South Indian food in Mumbai. Dakshinayan serves pure vegetarian food and would have a huge choice for Jain food eaters. One is spoilt for choice as they serve a long list of South Indian food. I would strongly recommend their Rasam, Sewai, Panyaram (my hot favourite), Masala Idli, Adai, Pesarattu, Bisibelai Bhath, Butter milk, Filter Coffee (it's to die for) besides the general idli, dosas and Uttapams that one eats at other south Indian restaurants.
While savouring the food at Dakshinayan you may get lucky to be sitting besides a some of the big Bollywood star or Television stars at their Juhu branch. Yes there are quite a few Bollywood Stars and Television stars who frequent Dakshinayan as there is no better place which serves such delicious south Indian food in the...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience! This South Indian restaurant in Walkeshwar is a true gem. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that authenticity was their priority.
We sampled a wide range of dishes, and each one was a delight. The dosa here is a must-try; it was crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor on the inside. The service was not only great but impressively quick.
This restaurant has a certain charm as an old joint, and it's a testament to their consistent quality. Don't leave without trying their surprise item, the Malai Kulfi – it's an unexpected delight.
The only drawback is the lack of parking space, but the fantastic food more than compensates for it. They cater to vegetarians and Jains, which is a huge plus. We personally enjoyed the Tamarind Sevai, Curd Vada, Podi Dosa, and of course, the Malai Kulfi.
Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors in a cozy setting. This place truly delivers on taste...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to try a dosa in this restaurant and I have to say, it was absolutely delicious! The dosa was thin and crispy, with a satisfying crunch when I took a bite. The filling was flavorful and well-balanced, with a nice blend of spices and vegetables.
The presentation of the dish was also top-notch - it was presented on a beautiful platter with chutneys and sambar on the side. I couldn't resist trying a little bit of everything and I was glad I did - the chutneys added an extra layer of flavor to the dosa and the sambar provided a comforting, spicy kick.
Overall, I was extremely impressed with the dosa at this local restaurant. It was a true delight to eat and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and...
