In a neighborhood filled with places known for their splendour and impressiveness in North Indian and Mughlai style of cooking, 'Delhi Zaika' takes pride in the assortment of delicacies true to the authentic root flavours of the same. It is one of the few places in the locale which exhibits a lovely decor along with amazing food. The customer service is absolutely flawless, they've got a really good crew who with their hospitality and excellent service can make any customer feel at home.
The menu is a medley of culinary specialities from North Indian, Mughlai and Chinese cuisines. Another factor that chips in the excellence of 'Delhi Zaika' is the standard of authenticity that they have to offer in this fine spread of drool worthy treats. To add to this, the prices are genuinely reasonable. Dining here won't cost you a lot.
Appetizers The portion sizes of the appetizers are very generous. They're copiously festooned with an orchestra of flavours loaded with gastronomic elegance and are extremely pleasing to the taste buds.
We ordered "Chicken Peshawari Tandoori" and "Paneer Tikka" for starters. The 'Peshawari Tandoori' is served on a bed of a buttery semi dry gravy which is absolutely delectable. The meld of flavours of tandoor grilled chicken pieces and the luscious gravy is ambrosial. It has a delightful aroma and a rich colour which makes it very inviting and a perfect starter to commence the meal with. The 'Paneer Tikka' served here, owing to it's superior flavour; tastes different from the ones I've had at other places. The paneer cubes are soft and taste heavenly. With a portion size of eight pieces, it is very filling.
The starters that we tried; focussed on Mughlai annd North Indian style of cooking but the chinese appetizers too, are very tasty. 'Crispy Thread Chicken' is one of the highly recommended dishes from this section. Other popular appetizers include 'Chicken Satee Finger', 'Chicken Crispy Dry' and 'Oyster sauce' based options.
Mains The main course options revolve around succulent meat dishes featured in the Biryani and Kepsa sections along with some of the tastiest gravies that blend extremely well with Indian breads. The best thing about the gravy based options is customized quantities. We had 'Paneer Lahori' with 'Lachha Paratha'. We opted for the Quarter portion which was really filling. The Lahori gravy is on the spicier side of the flavour palate and is extremely appetizing. With Lachha paratha, it tastes even better. One of the best vegetarian options in the menu.
A delightful spot in the neighborhood, 'Delhi Zaika' is one of the finest. If you're around, you...
Read moreDelhi Zaika is a quite well known place for their Mughlai cuisine. So I was here for dinner a few days ago and this was my experience.
This outlet is located just a km away from the grant road station on the east side and can be reached easily. It's not a very big place but has quite a few tables spread across this really vibrant ambiance.
It's like one of those family restaurants, with really good Ambiance, quick service and amazing food. Their menu consists of North Indian, Chinese, and Mughlai food with a good number of options for both veg and non veg section.
The service was good as well, the staff made sure we were comfortable and the food was also served quite quickly even though the restaurant was almost full there was no delay in the service.
Coming to the food here's what we had-
DZ SPECIAL CHICKEN MALAI TIKKA We started off with this delicious chicken starter. It comes in 3 different portions, we had the 4 piece portion. So four delicious chicken tikka were prepared with the super amazing malai concoction which gave it a smooth texture and a super delicious taste.
PANEER PESHAWARI TIKKA Decided to try their veg menu also and ordered this paneer tikka. Again we went for the 4 piece portion. Fresh and tender paneer pieces slowly cooked over tandoor and served with the slightly spicy (almost) gravy. The peshawari masala was just amazing. Loved it!
PANEER REZALA This was vegetarian main course of choice. It was basically a white spicy gravy with a generous amount of paneer pieces. The gravy wasn't as spicy as we were hoping but it was delicious nonetheless. Had it with garlic naan. The naans were amazing, they were soft to chew and just had a good overall taste.
CHICKEN TIKKA BIRYANI This was our second main course so decided to go for biryani. The biryani was just amazing. It had this really delicious masala and had a really good amount of chicken tikka pieces in it. The quantity was also really good.
CARAMEL CUSTARD With all the amazing starters and main course we were really full, so decided to have a light dessert and ordered a single caramel custard. It was the perfect end to a...
