Durga Hotel — Restaurant in Mumbai

I usually don’t write reviews, but my experience at Durga Hotel in Mahakali was so disappointing that I feel compelled to warn others. From start to finish, the service and management were absolutely dreadful. First of all, we had to wait over 30 minutes just to be seated, even though the restaurant was only half full. When we finally got a table, it took another 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence, and that too after we had to call over a waiter ourselves. Unbelievable. The food arrived cold, and some items were missing from the order. We had to ask multiple times for them to correct it, and when they did, the replacements were still subpar. The food quality was nothing like we had expected; the portions were small, and the flavors were bland. To top it off, the staff seemed completely uninterested and unprofessional—no apologies, no explanation, just indifference. The management was even worse. I tried to speak to the manager about the issues, but he was dismissive and defensive, as if we were inconveniencing him. There was no attempt to resolve the situation, and no offer to make things right, which really shows how little they value their customers. I had high hopes for this place based on some positive reviews, but after this experience, I won’t be returning. I placed a takeaway order and ended up waiting for 45–50 minutes, even though the restaurant was half empty. What made it worse was watching 2–3 other customers who ordered after me get their food much earlier — clearly, they don’t care about fairness or order sequence. When I tried to ask about my order, the staff were arrogant and dismissive, and the owner’s attitude was even worse. No apology, no basic courtesy, nothing — just excuses and rude behavior. It felt like they were doing me a favor by even talking to me. For a place that claims to be “well known,” the service quality is pathetic. It is a small restaurant suitable for small group of friends and families. Recommended for chinese food. There is a veg optiooas well.
