SHOCKING Experience at a So-Called ‘Family Friendly’ Restaurant

On 6th August 2025, I took my family out for dinner to Family Tree – Ghatkopar East, expecting a pleasant evening based on the pictures, ambience, and reviews shown online. Sadly, the reality was nothing short of appalling.

From the start, there were no clear directions inside the building about where the restaurant is located. After some confusion, we finally found it – only to be greeted by loud music and a dull, gloomy interior that looked nothing like the cheerful, well-lit photos posted online. Grey walls, minimal lighting, and even dust on the table we were seated at – not what you'd expect when taking your family to a "family" restaurant.

What made it worse was the constant smell of pesticides in the air. I had to request the staff 4–5 times before they used a room freshener to try and neutralize it.

Still trying to make the best of the situation, we went ahead and placed our food order — and then came the most disgusting moment of the night: a cockroach 🪳 crawling on our plate while we were eating.

That was the final straw. We paid the bill and left immediately. The place also had a strong smell of hookah and alcohol, making it the exact opposite of a "family-friendly" environment. Honestly, it felt like a scam.

⚠️ To anyone considering this place: PLEASE avoid it.

Photos are misleading

Ambience is terrible

Hygiene is non-existent

Staff is unresponsive

Food is average

And it's definitely not family/kids friendly

I wouldn’t even trust this place to meet basic FSSAI...

Had been to Family Tree for Rakshabandhan Celebration with Family of around 22 pax, manager Manoj settled us all in very appropiate way. So thanks him for all support Secondly all the staff were very helpful and with very quick service.. Food and Ambience was also up to the mark, Specially i loved khow suey soup ( too yum ) and had sizzlers too which was also delicious and than punjabi food with great desert.. So over all loved being there at such a good vibe place with all family members… so do visit all on every occasion. And connecting to The Family Tree, here a place called Bar Principle which is also Happening place in town owned by same guy Kamal bhai and managed by manoj. This place has 365 days live music with good food and great ambience and serves sheesha too .. Must visit...

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Family Tree in Ghatkopar East. From the moment we arrived, the service was unprofessional and unwelcoming. Despite repeatedly requesting water, it took 45 minutes for them to bring it to our table. The service was extremely slow, and the staff displayed very poor body language towards us.

Additionally, they charged us for food we did not order, and when we brought this to their attention, they behaved rudely and unprofessionally. There seemed to be no management or organization whatsoever. This kind of behavior towards customers is completely unacceptable.

I would not recommend Family Tree to anyone. There are plenty of better options in the area where you can expect to be treated with respect and receive...
