Crazy Sunday - Spent well at The Glasshouse Hyatt (Sunday Brunch) Spacious amazing spread. Some issues which I guess can be taken care of. Service could have been better. Official time of the brunch was 12.30 however till 13.00/13.15 Hours the counters were yet to be set. Being a 5 star property these things matter and I am sure the manager will look into it. They have named it A Brunch with a Dip (one can take a glass of his/her favourite poison sit beside the pool enjoy and maybe take a dip) Coming to the spread: Sushi Bar/Burmese Khao-Suey/Pasta Pizza from the famous STAX/Mumbai Chaat/South Indian/Kebab/Indian/Fresh Fruits/Desserts/Cheese. And a couple more. Started with Sushi Bar - loved the Prawn Tempura / Salmon Roll but was impressed with the doughnut shaped sushi, looked amazing tasted yum. Full marks. Burmese Khao-Suey, Tried the Veg. Exotic vegetables. Nice Hit and balance of spices and coconut. Condiments enhanced the dish. Small tasting portion. Lovely texture. Must try this. Also tried the Stir fried flat Noodles/Veg Sichuan Rice/Malaysian Style Lamb - Loved the lamb. Soft tender with a good Punch overall. Not to miss. Spatchcoke Chicken with Red wine Jus and Demerara Crusted pork loin with Maple Chilli Glaze looked appealing. Lovely texture. Had it been hot would have tasted better. Normally don't try the SOUTH INDIAN - went for Onion/Chilli Uttappam, JUST FANTASTIC, the fermentation was just perfect. One of the best I have had in recent times and my partner being a south Indian Vouched for it. Served with 3 types of Chutney. This is not to be missed. There was a counter which had Authentic Gurda/Kaleji/Kapoora and KHEEMA PAO - Fantastic Kheema and pao. Also tried the Kapoora - had to ask the chef to add more masala to it to get the balance correct. Its ether a hit or a miss. Liked it. PIZZAS/PASTAS - Stax is known for their Italian dishes. Was Disappointed with both. Pizzas was overloaded with cheese (Mozzarella /Cheddar) No balance at all. Would have loved had it been served whole rather then triangle. PASTA - Ravioli with Cream Sauce, PATHETIC, the worse dish I have tasted and tried over the years. (Guys please look into this) Under done DRY, can go on and on. This is not the standard I was expecting. Coming to the Kebabs - Gosht Ki Chpli - good. Nice tender. Its minced lamb pan seared patty with spices. Nice balance, aromatic. Go call for this. Paneer Tikka was done well. Had the freshness from Mint and Coriander. Also Tried the Chicken Tikka - good. I have always said that INDIAN at the Buffet is mind blowing - was Correct. Some Good preparation - Paneer Malai Kofta (soft rich) cream and spices gravy was balanced well. Bhuna Methi Palak - another wonderful dish, lovely texture (fenugreek and spinach with spices) loved it. Murg Saagwala was interesting, again a spinach dish with spices (balance was good) Lasooni Rawas (kebab section) was interesting Garlicky. Good balance of spices. Lovely marination. Big chunks. Dal was good. Must Try the Gosht Dum Biryani (long grain basmati rice) slow cooked with tender lamb with Indian spices. Paratha was a BIG LETDOWN. Missed out on a couple of dishes. Mumbai Chaat - Tried a small portion of Ragda Pattice/Aloo Chaat/Pani Puri Shot/Dahi Puri (this is so Bombay) do try. Tangy/sweet/spicy at the same time crunchy. Full of bold flavours. Nice section to have and goes well with the Brunch. I am not much of a dessert person but can't resist the PANCAKE - wow. Light/fluffy just perfect. A bit of Maple/loads of butter amazing. Cream at the side. a must try counter where they make waffle was well. Other desserts which I tried were - CHERRY BAVARIAN PASTRY Good, STRAWBERRY LAMINGTON PASTY - wow, so light. Had coconut filling. Loved it. Kesar Shrikand (must try out) lovely texture. Grills - DISSAPOINTED
Lemon and Dill Rubbed pan seared SEA BASS, cherry tomato confit. OVERDONE texture was missing though the sea bass was good. Again a...
Read moreWe booked our table for 2 for lunch buffet. But because of very heavy traffic due to very heavy rains got delayed. When we reached was surprised to be told that lunch buffet closes at 3pm. When I had called them before doing my booking I was not informed that lunch buffet closes at 3pm & the same is also not mentioned in their website, only all day dining is mentioned. The place was practically empty might be it was 3pm when we reached for our 2.30pm booking. On making a request to the chef they provided us with all that was available in lunch buffet & we enjoyed the same. As I had done the booking through easy diner was elegable for 15% discount on food & alcohol but when I told them that no discount is given on alcohol they refused saying no discount its only on doft drinks, whereas the confirmation message I got from easy diner said 15% discount on alcohol also. Being in service industry & that too from such a big hotel chain should be very clear on their timings of different food services provided by them. Also they should honour the commitment provided by their partner applications which I am sure they have agreed upon, thats why these applications provide these discount when booking is done...
