American Express Lounge — Local services in Mumbai

Usual expectation from a centurion lounge is space, privacy, luxury and sumptuous food. This lounge in Mumbai airport had each of these in small quantities if not for none in few cases.

This lounge is opposite Burger King outlet. I was directed to it by saying second right after completing the security checking. However, the lounge was small and was almost full in the afternoon. Considering that order lounges were full as well I think this could still be better choice for platinum card holders. The centurion section is closed for platinum card holders but the staff told it was just seating and the food will be the same for everyone.

The food was a major disappointment - completely flavorless, bland. The staff were very polite and completed any orders swiftly. I was in a hurry was able to take away some food which was super useful.

Final thoughts - If you’re looking for a decent option to sit down and relax before your flight, you might find that at this lounge but food might not be what you might...

Clean and well maintained lounge. Limited options in buffet. Some of the staff is very cooperative while the others just don't care. Unlike the delhi lounge, wherein each and every staff is attentive and ready to help. Entered and waited for 15-20 mins, none of the staff approached to check if I needed anything. Upon asking them for the menu, they said Platinum Reserve Card members cannot order from the menu, there's just buffet. This came as a surprise as the assumption is you can order from the menu at all Amex lounges. (Btw delhi one doesn't have any such conditions). It was a big turn off for me. Having experienced the terrible experience of the crowded lounge at T2 Mumbai Airport, I was pleasantly surprised to see am exclusive Amex lounge during my trip to India after almost 2.5 years. Words are not enough to express the ambience, service and thorough compliance of COVID 19 protocols. As a doctor, I was only looking for a place that was safe to sit and have a hot cup of tea. The food section could have more choice but it's a clean no nonsense menu ..that limitation is adequate up by the warm and personal touch offered by the service.
