Harish Lunch Home is a nice, little place located along the ever buzzing streets of Irla. This place is mostly not known to most people because from the outsides it looks like a really small place, but once you get inside it is much vast.
They have different sitting arrangements for different groups of people. We chose the family sitting.
We had 📍Butter Garlic Prawns 📍Bombil Fry 📍 Tandoori Chicken 📍Prawns Koliwada 📍Surmai Tawa Fry 📍Paneer Chilly
The prawns were really big and the sauce was just perfect. Coming to the bombil, it was shallow fried and served with a curry leaf chutney. And the tandoor was also well done. Coming to the koliwada, the quantity was amazing and the prawns was crispy fried. The surmai even though fried, wasn't dry and retained moisture and the marinade was just amazing. The paneer was very soft and nicely engulfed by the sauces.
The starters were simply amazing
Coming to mains we had Murgh Mayuri along with Butter Roti. We opted to try something different than the regular gravies, but didn't find anything exceptional. But no doubt the taste was good. In mussalam gravy, there were 4 huge tandoori pieces, the gravy was nice and one of the best I have had.
We also had the Chicken Lucknowi Biryani which was the highlight for me. Firstly it came in a matka as it was cooked with dum. And secondly the taste was exceptional. There was chicken which was cooked well with the spices, even the long rice grains were very flavorful.
This was my first dining experience here and it definitely didn't disappoint me, instead it more me more curious to visit here often in order to try our more...
Read moreRecently visited Harish Lunch Home for a non-veg dinner, and I have to say, my experience was quite mixed. While the restaurant does have a parking facility and offers both bar and family seating sections, the food and service left much to be desired. This place is known for its seafood and bar setup, so I had some expectations going in. We ordered a variety of dishes: • Manchow Soup • Chicken Ghee Roast • Butter Garlic Prawns • Bombil Fry • Chicken Crispy • Egg Fried Rice
Out of everything, only the soup was passable. The chicken ghee roast was underwhelming—the masala wasn’t cooked properly. Butter garlic prawns lacked flavor and freshness, and the bombil fry didn’t meet the usual seafood standard either.
The chicken crispy was the biggest disappointment. It was hard and chewy, nowhere near the crispy texture we expected—it honestly ruined the mood of the meal.
For the main course, we ordered egg fried rice, but the waiter failed to guide us properly with portion sizes, especially considering we were a big family. This led to a shortage and overall dining discomfort.
In short, service was poor, food was mostly below average, and portion sizes were not family-friendly. I would not recommend this place for a proper family dinner. If you’re looking for quality food and attentive service, I suggest you explore...

Don't go looking for a posh atmosphere, although the place is quite well-appointed. In the upstairs dining area, there are two rooms, they always insist that we sit in the family room but in fact the largest dining area is better and more welcoming. It's a permit room so one usually only finds men their getting their alcohol and fish fix, away from their families (strange but true for today's day and age).
Anyway, it doesn't bother us, because we always sit there. I have been three times in the last three weeks. I have tried their bombil fry, crab tandoori, squid sukka, clams sukka, crispy squid ( only thing I didn't like), surmai gassi - very light and home style, not thick and heavy that one usually sees at other restaurants, Kerala prawn fry, neer dosa. They even gave us a fish sauce to eat with neer dosa, it was excellent. Average price with drinks comes too around 600-700 pp, depending upon...
