Firstly, there food prices have increased ridiculously! 290 rs for Butter chicken! I agree that the quantity is quite sufficient but the kind of service (or not) they offer, doesn't do justice at all. There is no proper sitting arrangements here, and at time even when you go and at the billing counter for a stool, they wouldn't even budge their arse from the stool they sitting at. Wow!
Secondly, i went there just now to eat, boss, huge error in the invoice. So they wrote 35.7 in the price board and in the invoice it was 40.18, after adding GST @12%. I was like okay, but then i realized that they have taken 40.18 as net amount and have again charged 12% GST on it. The guy at the Billing counter was very adamant but then i have to admit him to high school and then college and also paid for his tuition, just to teach him Tax calculations and the blunder they have been doing since i don't know how long! Anyways, he finally understood, so i asked him that what about the other customers who have been paying your unjustifiably 35.7 rs +12% GST = 40.18 and again charging 12% on this amount?? He didn't have any answer for that. I think the IT department should take strict action about these kind of cases. After all, boond boond se ghada bharta hai.
My recommendation would be either eat roadside food where you don't end up paying double/triple the amount or eat at a proper restaurant, where there is proper sitting arrangements and atleast have a shade to be safe from the...
Read moreThe Andheri outlet of the famous linking road outlet 'Jai Jawan Jai Kisan'. This place is much bigger then their bandra parent outlet.
Taste - I have always liked the Tandoori chicken, Amritsari Fried fish ( Rawas or Surmai) and the most soft and succulent Mutton sheekh kebab. The meat is well marinated and once can taste the spices inside the meat as well while eating, specially in the Sheekh kebab. One can ask for Pav along with the meat to accompany. They serve a green chutney (mint and green chillies chutney) and sliced onions with the dishes. They also have gravy dishes and tandoori or Roomali roti but I am not great fan of those foods.
Service - One has to be ready to wait for getting served. The orders are prepaid and the outlet always has crowd waiting to be served. The outlet doesn't have a proper seating place to eat so mostly people park the cars outside the outlet and there is always a server for the cars.
Price - The prices feel little on higher side given the outlet is mostly take away or eat in your own car options. Though one doesn't mind paying the price as the great taste off sets the higher price thought.
Overall for some good indian tandoori items, this place is must visit.
I have given less score due to limited items that are worth the higher rating so overall score is...
Read moreJai Jawan Bandra is very famous for its non veg food. I had never had the opportunity to try the food there even after being in the same vicinity.
Didn't know they have a branch in Andheri, so while browsing through Zomato for dinner places, came across this and decided to visit.
It was a very casual meet between me and bestie. After some catching up over coffee, we decided to go here for our dinner.
There is valet parking here, which is the best part.
They have an outside and inside seating both. We were sitting outside and there were fans too so was not feeling hot.
What we ordered..
Tandoori Chicken - After a long time I have enjoyed Tandoori Chicken. Properly cooked chicken, perfect tandoor flavor. But I found the chicken was not marinated well. There was less masala on the inside. So once the outer layer was done eating, the inside layer felt very bland.
*Pls improve on this *
Butter Chicken - Love, love, love the butter chicken here. Soft pieces of chicken in creamy, buttery gravy. Just perfect. Had it with Butter Roomali Roti and I was in butter chicken heaven.
Caramel Custard - Soft, caramel custard, very fresh. Loved it.
Matka Rabdi - Very creamy, very very tasty. Amazing.
This is my favorite place now for butter chicken. Been craving it...
