31 January 2020 - 19.00 hours "Ottoman 2.0"
Ottoman is already a successful outlet in Lokhandwala and I have always heard about being an amazing place for youth. This is the second outlet in the chain. This is in Aram Nagar, Versova. It is a small beautiful outlet with a capacity of approx. 50 seating. From the exterior you can't tell that this place can handle so many guests. I loved the ambiance which has nice lights and not very dim like a regular hookah parlor. The tables were well set, more like a restaurant.
The music was appropriate - not too loud, not to low, not too trendy and not too out of trend - this way everyone can relate to the songs. The two things that you should know is the availability of pool table and board games. These are perfect time killers until you order is being prepared. A good way to have fun when you end up with your friends. I found the Sheesha here affordable considering the place. Also, if you checkout their Happy Hours offer, you might find it extremely economical.
Sheesha (Hookah)
They have quite a variety in their menu for both sheesha and food/beverages. For sheesha, they have classic and premium flavors. We opted for the DUBAI SPECIAL of course. When you want to get the best of hookah you go for the Dubai one. This is a mixture of double apple, grape and spring water. This is just amazing. The flow is perfect, the mixture is flawless and the pot looked ideal too. I would say go for it without worrying and you won't regret. The rates are Rs.499 from 10am to 6pm and Rs.699 from 6pm to 1am.
Drinks/Beverages
We had a couple of Frappes here. First came my favorite - FRAPPE MOCHA. If you read my reviews you would know I love anything with coffee flavor, hence the mocha variant. The shakes here come in a enclosed jar like the olden days' milk bottles. The inside of the bottle was garnished well with chocolate sauce.
The lid is tightened with a straw to make things easier and spill-free for you. The shake tasted a lot like a coffee frappe which is why I ordered it. I loved the Frappe. The thickness was just as required. We also had another one called KITKAT FRAPPE - this too came in a similar bottle minus garnishing.
At first, we thought the one with chocolate sauce was the KitKat frappe however it was not. The KitKat frappe is a bit thicker than the mocha because it had crushed KitKat in it. Mocha was more of a smoother frappe. Both the frappe we tried are good. Frappe Mocha is more Insta-friendly.
Food
We thought of having some munchy food but then we realized they have Mughlai and Chinese starters too. Hence, we ordered PANEER SATHE. This is a thick finger like Paneer served with a tooth pick for ease of picking. This is a 5-piece starter in Chinese sauce. The pieces are marinated well and extremely soft, topped with cashew pieces. It comes with mint chutney.
At first it was not warm, we then informed our waitstaff Sayed, who then re-heated it to serve it warm. The taste is superb and it is also very filling.
What else we liked instead was VEG TRIPLE SCHEZWAN NOODLES - These, when was coming our way, did not appeal us at all. It was only after we had our first bite, we loved it. This is the kind of noodles I like. They are a little soft, has a little moisture in them, covered properly in schezwan sauce and comes with gravy. I bet, no one can complain about this. The aroma of Chinese dishes is tempting.

Read moreOttoman Cafe, Apparently it was my favorite go-to place when it came to sheesha accompanied by some finger-licking appetizers. After the Andheri outlet, they have recently opened up a new one in Versova and it has a similar vibe. The menu is almost the same and they have Mughlai, Chinese and Continental cuisine on their menu. They don' serve alcohol but they have a refreshing range of mocktails and shakes.
The sheesha being their USP, it is worth in each and every sense. They charge around 899 for a single flavor and 1199 for combo and they 1+1 happy hours offer is not to be missed at all. The food quantity and taste were very promising. Well marinated, well cooked and well presented on the plate. Especially the nonveg dishes.
We had a plate of "Chicken Sholay Kebab" and "Chicken Lolipop" as side dishes. Both did a fair job in terms of taste. Kudos to the chef. "Chicken Chopper Rice" was a decent main course served with chicken gravy with decent hints of chicken pieces in it and can be easily had by 2 people.
For beverages, we had, "Kit Kat Shake" & "Ferrero Rocher Shake" on the table which had the proper and balanced sweetness level and also neither too thick nor too thin.
The big pool table in the cafe cannot be missed at any cost and also the music is quite good. Sheesha was well prepared and did last for a good time, so no complaints in that section. The service was great as well. Food came on time and the taste was top notch....
Read moreOttoman Cafe in Versova is a go-to party & chill location to enjoy great sheesha, and delicious food.
The restaurant has a courtyard vibe with a pool table, grass rug, and spacious seatings that just make the entire vibe of the place super comfortable and relaxed. Just let the sheesha and drinks help you relax further and enjoy the ambiance to the fullest. The service for sheeshas is much faster than for food.
The food here is quite decent, I would rather go to this place for their drinks, ambiance, and sheesha than the food. Yet some of the food options from Indian to Continental are great to taste and you should try them out.
Chicken Tikka Pizza was the star of my meal here. This may appear a little bit greasy but the taste is delicious. It's cheesy, rich tikka-tangy, and creamy. Must try from here.
I also tried Chicken Lebanese Tikka, Tilwale Paneer Tikka, and Murg Lahori Kheema. The Kheema was super spiced and had burst of numerous flavors of spices, you might even get to chew on one. Tastes beautiful although I wished I didn't have to chew on so many spices.
Chicken Lebanese Tikka comes with creamy garlic yogurt topped over it and is super tender and juicy to taste, seriously you won't regret having this one. I think any of the Chicken Tikkas won't disappoint you.
Ottoman Cafe is a lovely place with an awesome ambiance that you will enjoy your time in. The service is slow but the taste of food and flavors make up for...
