I am updating my review after being a regular here since a year or so now.
Sadly, this place has now started compromising on quantity and quality and is now a disappointment.
Slowly they started hiking the prices of their thalis which we usually have and I would not have mind at all had they kept the quality same or added to it.
On my last visit, I paid Rs 680 for pomfret thali and in return I got a really small, stale, super oily and smelly fried fish. The sweet dish of the thali is gone, any which way it was just a spoon of shrikhand or halwa or gulabjamun but that's gone too. The curry is also not tasty and the waiters don't bother at all to bring your rice in the end. Just because you don't ask it, they will not serve you.
I complained about the quality and why they are taking things off the plate...I was told they give 150 gms of pomfret and sweet dish was going waste and hence they don't serve it. They should ask the guests and if they don't want, they should not serve them. Simple.
Taste is also gone bad but a few items like bombil fry, Modak is still droolworthy.
Their is no harm in increasing the price. But they should serve atleast what they are charging for.
It's an honest review and I hope they take this positively and work on it.
Thanks
Here is my last review...
Just loved our dining experience here. The food is totally delicious. I love Maharashtrian cuisine especially seafood and my search for it in Powai ends here.
Ambience is simple, quiet and they play lovely folk songs.
We ordered Bombil fry, Pomfret Thali, Surmai Thali and Kolhapuri Chicken Thali and all of the dishes were mind blowing. Bombil fry was crispy and fresh and so was the pomfret and surmai. The sukkhat given along was too good and the three types of chatnis was also full of flavours. The fish curry was tempting and I also liked their shrikhand.
Coming to chicken thali, the pandra rassa and tambda rassa were okay but the chicken curry was delicious.
I wanted to try crab as well, but being a holiday they were out of stock. Didn't get to try modak as well. But what ever we ate, we simply loved every bit of it.
Would love to go here...

Indian breads like bhakari, chapati were like homemade.Sitting arrangement is convenient and very comfortable.Parking Wil be along side roadside and under observation. You can reserve table in advance on phone call.Though it's seafood hotel taste of Mutton was also delicious also veg thali was awseme.Normally this hotel is bit crowded so it's advisable to book table in advance to avoid waiting.I went there through recommendation from friend and really it's nice place for authentic sea food and maharstrian style food. You will get tasty seafood dishes like pomfret, surmai, bnagada, crab, prawn etc with yummy taste. The veg dish will be with days preparation of...
Read moreOverall review is this place not value for money 😕place, the ambience they have tried to create is not that the ambience they have tried to create but was not that warming to me. the center point of the hotel is food and authentic Maharashtrian food. we had order an bombil fry, but to our surprise the fish was fry in the coating of Besan and it was deep fry not tawa or Shallow fried. So it was basically an bhaji ( Pakoda ) like thing not an fish fry. second thing i order was Chicken thali, so the quantity was enough for one person but the taste was not at all up to the mark, they thali contain of Chicken Kheema, I was wondering where in Maharashtra we get chicken kheema, but keeping that a side the solkadi which they serve was not at all solkadi, i don't the chief has ever drink an authentic solkadi and saying the drink as solkadi. and to end the meal we order ukdiche modak , which was very highly prices, i don't know but to compare the size and taste it was totally waste of money, the modak was not at all steam it was heated in any device and then serve which was not at all good. and Last review was about the services. Service is so slow that in thali you have everything is standard and it should be kept ready, we have to wait a too long for your rice to arrive which was also not serve properly, you can refer...
