Keep traveling, keep eating,...
Read more"Hitchki" one of the finest places I've lately visited. They have 2 outlets in Mumbai- Powai and BKC. I visited the Powai outlet. The place literally stole my heart in every possible way. I couldn't find a single point as a food reviewer to deduct a point and after this outstanding experience nor do I wish to deduct thus giving them a perfect score. So Hitchki is located at a happening locality with many other restaurants around, they have their own uniqueness and exception. The interiors are beautifully done. As you enter, you find a massive bar counter and the partition takes you to the dining area. There is also a private area here. The dim lighting and cushioned seating is done well and comfortable. It's minimal and classy. Their food and bar menu has an attractive plush touch. As you take it in your hand, you find it fancy and when you open it, all you'll see is funky named dishes and drinks. It's quite an interesting concept. Hitchki functions from noon to around 1.30am. They serve modern Indian food. Its a casual dining plus bar. Hitchki has no Hookah. It's a good place for a family dinner, friend's birthdays or maybe a date. The service was absolutely timely despite it being a sunday. I did not have to wait for any dish, time was well managed by the staff. I was served by Vishal and Mohsin who are very kind and friendly. They understood my choices and suggested me best of the dishes. It's a place to catch your fancy.
Talking about food, the names will surely amaze you and keep you enthralled.
COCKTAILS / MOCKTAILS
Smokehattan This is a whiskey base drink with cinnamon flavoured smoke. It strongly smells of cinnamon but minimally tastes cinnamon and I appreciate that.
He-man This one's made with red bull, peach and grenadine.
Minions Not only did the mocktail attract me, but also it's name. Who doesn't love minions?
STARTERS
5)Chacha Chowdery It's a nice flavorful white soup made of beer, cream, veggies. Surprisingly, the beer did not make the soup bitter even a bit.
Mumbai Ka Julius Caesar It's a parmean papad with caesar dressing. You can choose either eggs or chicken. We chose boiled chicken.
Full Zhol Che As the name says, nobody can guess what it would be. It's truly a zhol. A concoction of cashews, mozarella served with mint yogurt. Its deep fried. Very crisp.
Bhatti Ka Paneer This dish is a hitchki recommendation. Comes in 4 different varieties. We chose the malai one.
Vasai Ker Bhujing Its boneless chicken cooked in spices and roasted. Served with puffed rice what we commonly call Poha.
Crispy Chicken Khurana Loved the marinade of this dish. I recommend this. It is fried tandoor chicken.
MAIN COURSE
DESSERT
12)Laila Majnu Yes the name is too cool. The pair laila- majnu is about chocolates. White and dark. The relationship and the way they balance between both is phenomenal. It has a crunchy base topped with chocolate layers covered with chamber like sticks and beside is a parle g pesto spread.
13)Banofee Bomb Last but not the least. Such bombs are always desirable. Ye toh suna hoga "mann mai laddu futa?" Here it's a bomb loaded with dry fruits, chocolate coating, caramel syrup and glazed banana. What more could you ask for? It is indeed perfection.
I had a wonderful experience at Hitchki. Ambience, Service, Staff, Food, Location. Everything is great....
Read moreHitchki is apparently not just a restaurant but an experience worth remembering. As legends say that, Hitchki is a feeling which arises in your body if a loved one remembers you, post a visit here, you would surely build memories that would rise up your Hiccups more often, with the kind of experience that you"ll create down the memory lane.
Location: Located next to Mirchi & Mine & near Bayroute.
Ambiance: You could either choose an air conditioned and gorgeous indoor seating or a shaded outside one. It would be worth mentioning the design of the place, as a lot of importance has been given to the minutest of the details. There's something for everyone at Hitchki to get dumbstruck about. May it be the stunning collection of glassware or the quirky names in the menu or even their collection of vintage cameras, typewriters and phones. The seating is extremly cozy with some great music which will only go on to enhance your experience.
Service: The service is phenemonal and you could blindly go by the suggestion of the attending gentleman.
Cocktails/Mocktails: 1)Kala Chashma: Supposedly named after the hit track from 2016, this one is a super hit for 2018 and years to come. It's a wise mix of Kahlua, Whisky, Castor sugar and an infused smoke towards the end. The wooden flavor in the drink is something which will keep you craving for more. The flavors were well balanced and you could expect a splurge of refreshment with every sip. So kudos to Mr. Bartender for such an innovative mix. You got to try it to believe it.
2)Boot-e-licious: Next up one the list was miss Boot-e-licious. My curiosity levels rised when I first read this on the menu, so decided to call for it. The first look itself would make you fall in love with it, as it is served in a Boot shaped glass, hence the name Boot-e-licious. It's an interesting mix of a variety of alcohol but mixed to perfection. God bless the Bartender for introducing me to Boot-e-licious.
Food: 1)Full Zhol Che: Shifting focus, this was the first appetizer on my list. Similar to Aloo Tikkas in terms of the look but with a good twist in the stuffing, that wisely defines the name. The tikki made use of only 2 ingredients Cashewnuts and Mozzarella, yet the taste was really scrumptious. These were accomplimented with an Almond mint dip to give that extra rich taste to the tikkis. Quite an unconventional mix, but absoultely worth.
Main Course: 1)Kadai Paneer Lasagna: This dish is an example of Fusion in the finest form. Lasagna sheets are replaced with Paneer and the Kadai sabzi Ratatouille opens up your appetetize even further. The garlic naan served along with it was made really well. It was extrenly soft with a generous amount of Cheese stuffed within the dough, it was yet crunchy. An impeccable combination which I'll love to strongly recommend.
Desserts: 1)Baratiyo ka swagat: I've got to say that the presentation is so delightful that you would not like to spoil it by eating it. It's a 100% edible dessert, ofcourse discarding the plate in which it is served. Jokes apart, the presentation deserves a huge round of applause. The dessert is designed around the theme of a wedding mandap, where our good our pan pasand plays a vital role. 4 thin sticks of sugar resemble the 4 pillars of a mandap, while the sugar threads on the top resemble the design of the mandap. The taste is really delectable and I the concept deserves a 10/10 from me.
Recommendation: Cocktail: Kala Chashma & Boot-e-licious Starter: Full Zhol Che Main Course: Kadai Paneer Lasagna Dessert: Baratiyo ka swagat
Rating: 1)Ambiance: 5/5 2)Service: 5/5 3)Food (Taste & Presentation): 5/5 4)Value for money:...
