Mondo stands for the one which is remarkable of its own kind. I have always been awestruck when it comes to flaming food especially the technique that they apply with such precision. At Mondo you get to witness this live which is quite intense . The outlet is located at Dahisar and has amazing items on their menu to devour. A place of fine dining, what makes it stand out is the way their menu has been designed. You get to choose any menu from their already set menu which covers the entire course. At Mondo, they serve both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian courses of Chettinad, Greek and Moroccon cuisines, starting from their scrumptious starters to their lovely desserts giving you a next level culinary experience. Iād highly recommend their mocktails for their mind blowing taste and live presentation which is worth watching. We started off with the Mocktails which were the highlights of the day : ⢠Twisted Lassi : Who doesnāt love twists with a surprise? Well the making of this lassi makes it all so twisted. Live flaming of cinnamon stick followed by immediate dipping of it into the lassi, gives out an inviting cinnamon flavor in every sip! Such a refreshing and delicious drink . Highly recommend you all to try this out. ⢠Mango Mule: This drink is basically a hybrid of Mango and Ginger and hence the name. Initially a mango mocktail, on adding flamed ginger , the tangy and sweet taste that blooms into the juice leaves a wonderful taste on the buds. A little bit of the burnt flavor was an added credit to the tadka. Next we tried out their Moroccon cuisine, both the Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian menu. For the starters we were served with : ⢠Hummus and Pita Bread (Veg) and Chicken Hummus Pita Bread (Non-Veg) : Before I talk about anything else, Kudos to the chef for preparing the perfect Hummus Iāve had so far here in Mumbai! If youāve tried out authentic Hummus anytime youād know why I was delighted to finally have some real finger lickinā good Hummus. The crisp pita Bread was a perfect combo along with the chicken thus making it a dish I would definitely recommend.
⢠Fattoush Salad : A fancy salad with cucumbers, capsicum, tomatoes and parsley leaves mixed with fried Arabic bread and topped with pomegranate vinegar making it relishing. ⢠De-Constructed Falafel (Veg) : The Humman totally won my heart because of which I was totally pumped up to try out their falafel. To be honest it wasnāt a tad bit close to the original falafel but comparisons aside, it was quite a scrummy shawarma. The tahina dip was too good. ⢠De-constructed Chicken Shawarma (Non-Veg) : Good presentation with chicken shawarma pieces, this was a fine dish. The sauces went along well making it tasty. ⢠Sorbet :This extra chilled sorbet is perfect for a hot summer day. Served really chilled and sweet, I actually felt my tongue go numb for a few seconds. ⢠Home made Baladi with cous cous and vegetable tajine (Veg) : This was a main course dish. The first bite and I loved it, midway through I enjoyed the rice along with the feta cheese and veggies. One of the sauces though didnāt go so well on my palate.
⢠Oven roasted baby chicken Tajine served with couscous : The chicken was soft and cooked perfectly cooked along with the rice that were too good.
Finally for dessert we had the Classic Um Ali accompanied with date and pistachio dust : Um Ali is a well known dessert in the Middle East. Yet again I amazed at how wonderfully this was replicated from the original dish with a touch of pistachio and dates. The dessert was served warm with such a pretty presentation. Quite impressive .
A lovely experience and something different. Having to choose a set menu lets you explore through all the well known dishes of that particular cuisine and that is why Mondo is an outlet one of a kind . the service was great and the staff provided us help with clicking pictures and also helping us choose our menu. They an an indoor and outdoor seating with an elegant interior. Had a Bang on experience here. Keep up...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMondo is a special restaurant simply because of the fact that it provides customers with not just scrumptious food, but also an experience that stays with them for a long time. The establishment has a classy ambience with both indoor and outdoor seating options available. With light music playing in the background and dim lighting during night time, it doesn't get better than this for a dinner date. Oh! We forgot, they also have candle light dinner, so it does get better and is just perfect for that special occasion..š You can serve the yummiest food in the world, but most restaurants are let down by their staff in terms of customer service experience. Here, we found the staff to be extremely polite and knowledgeable and the explanations on what to expect were on point. We firmly believe that a chef is a food artist, and the chef here did a fantastic job in serving some of the most mouthwatering and irresistible looking plates of food we have ever seen..𤤠Now coming to their food where they have a unique concept in place of serving a well curated 6 course meal apart from their regular Ć la carte menu. The 6 course menu has two options to choose from, one being Indian cuisine and the other from a region around the globe. The amazing thing is they change their set menu every fortnight, so one can dine here over and over again in order to taste something new & delicious, which we are sure you will be easily tempted to do once you taste their lip smacking food..š We feasted on a 6 course meal from Galway, Ireland with the Non-Vegetarian (Chicken) as a sub option. It included the following dishes : Colcannon served with Soda Bread - Colcannon is a traditional Irish dish and usually made with mashed potatoes and cabbage just like this one. Soda Bread had a crusty exterior, yet it was soft and dense in the middle. Both went great together. Creamy Chicken Soup - Flavoursome, thick and hot, it was everything that one would want from a soup. Boxty served with Chicken Bacon - Boxty felt like a mixture of potato pancake and hash brown. The chicken bacon in the middle was absolutely yummy. The accompanying sauces completed the dish with their contrasting flavours..š Sorbet - Sorbet nothing but sugar sweetened water with flavoring that is served frozen. Sorbet is mostly present in all of their set course meals and acts as a palate cleanser for the scrumptious main course and dessert to follow..𤤠Irish Stew served with Herb Pilaf - Stew had large pieces of well cooked chicken in it. It was a hit in terms of flavour and the rice pilaf complimented it very well. The quantity was more than enough for a single person. Mud Brownie served with Coffee Mousse - A dessert which looked so decadent and beautiful that it felt like an honour to have set our sights on it. The coming together of different flavours and textures of this dessert worked so well that it left us wanting for more..š¤¤
Apart from this we ordered the following from à la carte menu : Fish Fingers - Fresh & soft fish covered by a crispy layer which was seasoned to perfection. Yummy stack of golden fries and mayo dip as accompaniments were more than enough to get us salivating..𤤠Margherita Pizza - Simple, yet delicious. The cheese was great and for those who don't like too much toppings on their pizza, this is a must try. Chicken Pasta in Sauce - One of the best chicken pasta that we have had for sure. Pasta was well cooked and the cheese sauce was drool worthy. With generous pieces of tender chicken in it and veggies to compliment, this was one...

They serve a complete 6 course meal that comprises of an Indian cuisine and a Global cuisine, and the menu changes every 15 days. This unique idea totally had me mesmerised and I was actually craving to try it out. I'm so stoked with the kind of ecstatic work the chef here has been doing in curating the menu that changes every 15 days! Brilliant job!
It has a great ambience with proper lighting that matches the ethos of their cuisines. As I entered, I felt that I was transported to the breathtaking place in an instant and felt a greater sense of connect with the food, thus taking my experience several notches higher! And yes that surely won them brownie points and a good word-of-mouth!
Excellent layout and decor are only effective if the service is up to the standard. The staff was knowledgeable, 'cause when asked about the menu or restaurant in general, they had an answer at ready. Mondo Fine Dine has left no stone unturned with its impeccable hospitality skills.
ā What we Relished :
ā Mocktails -
~ Holy Berry mojito : Red berry flavoured mojito. It looked beautiful and the liquid nitrogen theatrics were really appealing to the eyes. Super rejuvenating. ~ Kaffir lime and sugarcane mojito : lined with Cayenne pepper. The curry leaves were torch flamed which was spectacular to watch and that hit of burnt curry leaves in the mojito just made it all the more desirable.
ā Indian cuisine - Pahadi, Uttarakhand.
~Gahat ki tikki : Perfectly crisp. Served with a mint leave and a garlic chutney. The chutneys were a standout for me - really toothsome. ~ Kaddu ka Shorba : Another appetizing and experimental (successful) creation on your table which is flavoursome. ~ Aloo ke gutke : it was a simple, flavorful potato fry which is a regional culinary gem having it's origins in the hilly terrains of Uttarakhand. ~ Sorbet - Strawberry sorbet that worked perfectly as a mouth cleanser. ~ Kafali paneer, pulav, phulka, Bhatwani dal : Pulav was cooked to perfection with amazingly blended spices. The dal was delicious. And paneer was fresh and juicy. ~ Baal mithai served with gulgula : Baal mithai is a terrific and calorific favorite post-prandial indulgence. Loved the gulgula as well.
ā Global cuisine - Montreal, QuĆ©bec, Canada.
~ Marinated mushroom with Tapenade - simplifying the tepanade, Mondo creates a fabulous marinated mushroom recipe. ~ Green peas Potage - Honestly, my dealing with green peas are limited to salads and a few "mutter-sabzis". I was so happy with this pea - twist on a conventional Potage. ~ Ravioles du Dauphine : This dish had our gastronomic juices flowing the moment we saw it. It was plated so beautifully. Ravioles were deep fried and tasted yum. ~ Sorbet ~ Floret Gratin served with Fondant carrots, crispy leeks and truffled potato mash - The gratin was creamy and comforting, fondant carrots were beautifully cooked and potato mash was velvety smooth. As gnarly as ~ Bake cookie crumble served with walnuts and berries - it was a presented in a succinct form, it tasted as good as it looked.
Every dish was plated with absolute finesse. It was Serendipity on a plate !
I had one hell of an experience here. After all, there is no sincerer love than love for food and Mondo Fine Dine ensures that it gives you double the love back...
