I visited Persian Darbar Kurla outlet along with my family with very high expectations for very simple dishes. Ambiance was good and we liked the interior and decor. Our expectations went further high. But the experience was drastically different. First of all the waiting time after placing order was unusually high. The restaurant was not that crowded to have such a long waiting time. Our appetizer arrived after 30 mins of wait which was very average tasting. I have had better tasting chicken nuggets at home than chicken Lebanon Tikka that I had here. Butter chicken was good. Naan was soft and fresh. No complaints. We were asked by the waiter if we would like to have any rice preparations. We were bit hesitant but decided to go for chicken biryani. After 5 mins we were told that they don't have any biryani. Just jeera rice and dal was available. We decided not to opt for that and went ahed with ordering desserts. Another waiter told us mutton biryani is available. The staff themselves were not sure what dishes they have and could be served to their guests. Since we already had made our mind for desserts we said no. My dad asked for Persian Darbar special falooda. The waiter asked if we want it with milk. I am aware that there are some variants available now a days such as Kulfi falooda which do not have milk or rabdi but he should have told the contents of their so called special falooda in first place. My dad asked him to get it as it is usually prepared by them under the name Persian Darbar special falooda. As far as I am aware the milk used for falooda is thick and little bit condensed than normal milk but we were served with rose syrup, ice cream, vermicelli etc which were mixed with milk. Even roadside falooda tasted better than what was offered here. What a disappointment 😞. Since falooda was ordered first and we did not like it. We decided to try something else and ordered mawa firni and fruit salad with ice cream. Firni was served quickly and it was up to the mark. Nothing great but no complaints either. Fruit salad took another 15 - 20 minutes to get on the table. It looked yummy but it was another disappointment as soon as I tasted it. Firstly it just had diced apple and papaya which was sort of unriped for the sake of fruits. I couldn't see or taste any other fruits whatsoever. The diced apple and papaya were covered with some sort of custard but it was warm or at room temperature and with no particular taste or flavor which took away all the deliciousness from the dish. Only cold thing in the dish was one scoop of mango ice cream. I tried to mix it with the two fruits but it wasn't enough. I unwillingly finished the bowl of dice cut apple and papaya as I don't like to waste food and I didn't have time to argue with the waiter or manager or cook to get my dish replaced. I asked them to get us a bill which was obviously too high for the quality of food that we were served, paid the same and left. All in all it was watse of time and money. I would...
Read moreThe worst experience here is the detail review of what happened On 6/5/25 Friday evening I visited the restaurant to enquire about Eid gosht preparation for my Mutton raan masala which I need on 8/5/25 Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm Some random reception guy told me that it will be done and I should call them tomorrow night after which they will inform me that when I should drop the mutton. On 7/5/25 I visited the restaurant again to ask should I bring the Raan now they were telling me that they need minimum 6 hrs for the preparation but they will accept goat raan next day only that to after 10 am then I ask them how will you give to me by 1:00 pm which they have promised me yesterday and as I was discussing the issue Mr hidayat come and told me that I should drop the raan at 9:am with the watchman and he will try his best to deliver the same by 2:00 pm On 8/5/25 Sunday I drop the raan at 9:00 am with the security guard the guard was informed by Mr Hidayat to accept the raan Expecting to get it back by 2:00 pm at 11:30 am Mr Bilal called me and said there is no water in restaurant and the preparation is delayed and it will be ready by 3:00 pm only at 2:30 I called the restaurant again for the status This time Mr Bilal called me and informed me that the raan preparation is still on and it will not get ready before 4:00 pm during this conversation he also asked me whether I need full raan or booti on both time at 11:30 also and at 2:30 also at both time I informed him I need full raan
At 3:00pm I called back the restaurant and informed Mr Amjad that now I will come for pickup at 7:00 pm being I cannot keep my guest waiting for so long even he asked me whether it is full raan or booti I also asked him it is full raan At 8:00 pm when I reached the restaurant to my surprised my order was packed in 12 different containers When raised the issue Mr Amjad put the blame on Mr Bilal and Mr Bilal very bluntly lied to me over phone that I had told him for Boti Raan (Agar boti chaiye hoti to puri raan kyu deta aapko) Also Mr Amjad left the counter even when I was there discussing about my order when i enquired about him the staff told me his shift is over since I did not have any other option and did not wanted to create the scene I paid the full amount and left the restaurant The reason I am writing this review is that it was a total embarrassment for me in front of my guest and the senior management who is running the brand called Persian darbar should know how their restaurant is working There is a reason why people like us choose Persian darbar even though 50 other options are available in Kurla West How irresponsible the staff is and one thing is for sure I am never coming back to Persian darbar ever again not...
Read moreNot the first time we've been to Persian Darbar which is known to be the king of raan biryanis. However, their branch in BKC isn't just about it. It's about some wonderful refreshments, brilliant starters, phenomenal food and more over a mind blowing ambience. Probably, the best out of the lot. They have a private dining room as well which is absolutely stunning.
Here's a detailed review regarding our visit:-
We began our meal with different mocktails.
Alaska
Mocktail with a pinch of blue berry making it a frozen blue drink. Finish it before it melts😋
Coconut Colada (Recommended)
A mixture of lime juice, coconut cream with pineapple on the exteriors. A good drink.
Kiwi Pirozka
A sparkling Kiwi mocktail with lime and fruity flavours. It was okay.
All the mocktails were absolutely fruity, quite refreshing, and super light.
Coming to the starters, we had some indulging appetizers and here are the ones we tried:-
Murgh Lebnani Tikka (Recommended)
The best out of the lot. Cubes of chicken marinated in lebnani sauce and cooked well. Absolutely mouth watering!!
Mutton Luckhnowee Seekh Kabab (Recommended)
Mutton mince mixed with spices to form these delicious seekh kababs. Again something that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Crispy Chicken
The ever favorite appetizer tossed in veggies with sauce and tastes crispier.
Prawns Teriyaki
Teriyaki prawns served in creamy garlic sauce. Reminiscing the malai chicken dish, it was a good try by the Chef, literally enjoyed it.
Mutton Raan Biryani
Chunks of roasted mutton with the choiciest of Indian spices mixed in, to form raan biryani. Quite a feast and can serve 4 people.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Persian Darbar and just couldn't have asked for more. It's the perfect place to go for a family dinner or even dates due to their splendid interiors. They have private dining rooms with a buzzer to call a staff member whenever required, thus making it perfect for corporate meetings as well. However, it's the food that always matters and it was just excellent. Plan...
