Dined on 29th March 2024. Decided to go here because I used to loved their Biryani. Service is really really poor. No one is bothered about you, you'll have to keep calling them. First thing first their whole menu was full of Chinese items. One struggles to find Desi items. We first ordered Chicken Shalimar Charbaug along with 2 tandoori rotis. Waiter said order rotis together as it'll take time for the next round. To which we said, the moment you serve us first roti you place our order for the second one. He denied and said "ek saath bolo". We had to ultimately follow the waiter's wish. Chicken Shalimar Charbaug: 2/5 It's just spices in oil. Spices in oil literally. 2 I've given for cooked chicken which were literally 5 pieces for that huge price. We had to remove the oil in a different vessel. Roti: 4/5 As we expected, by the time we finished our first roti, the other one become too hard and too chewey. Ruined our experience. It was time for us to go for the beloved Shalimar Biryani. We didn't want anything fancy, we were there for the " basic Authentic Dum version". Waiter asked if we wanted full or half? We were wondering that there was nothing as such on the menu card. We asked if it'll suffice us two? He said order full. We went ahead and ordered full. Waiter came with the biryani tiny vessel. I asked him "hey, we ordered full biryani!" He replied "this is full only" I asked " then what you serve in the name of half biryani? Two spoon rice!?" He said "half of this" Anyway The moment we took our first bite we were surprised. So we had to take another one just to be sure. But we were sad that they served us some rice and some chicken pieces in the name of "Dum Biryani". Shalimar went down the road of hype like all the big places. They don't bother about the quality as there'll be crowd always because of their name which they earned a decade or two ago. Another thing I observed, that they removed a customer who was there on his own because they wanted to give the table to a big crowd. That's sad as they should've informed him before he was allowed to settle in. After sending that customer away, I heard them saying "puri family ko na bithau iske akele ki bajaay!" Which I found totally bad behaviour (totally my opinion). Payment: Credit card, Debit Card, and UPI were accepted...
