They justify the title they have taken, they serve GOOD FOOD and I’m happy I was in GOOD CO [Company]
It has been on my TO-DO list for quite some months now but could not tick it off due to some or the other reason. Once I did come in the vicinity but could not locate it nor find a place to park my car and actually hunt it down. It’s pretty easy to miss this little restaurant. So this time I did the smart thing, came by train and walked down.
The kitchen occupies 90% of the shop floor and the rest 10% is the counter. The sitting area is outside the shop, with only 4 tables and 16 green & black chairs. All this doesn’t matter once you place the order and the food is placed on your table. By the way, this is an ALL-VEG restaurant.
Let’s eat!
Pasta with TGFC sauce – Penne pasta with pink sauce, Arrabbiata + Alfredo sauce with broccoli, zucchini, bell peppers thrown in. The flavor and texture of the sauce was amazing. Add a bit of chilli flakes if you like it spicy and boy, you have yummy pasta in front of you. Dig it!
Pasta was not enough to satiate my taste buds and I could not review this restaurant on the basis of one item.
Falafel Wrap – Flat bread with generous spread of hummus, pickled beetroot, cabbage, dry & crispy falafel and rolled tightly and cut into two pieces. The hummus is soft and a bit coarse, the falafel is fried crispy and absolutely dry from inside. This makes an interesting combination as in when you bite a piece of the falafel with the hummus & the veggies, the first feel is of the dry piece falafel and then once you chew it the second time, the other stuff starts mixing with it. Gives a real good feel!
Well, the bill came to Rs.230 with no ASTERISK added to the prices i.e. no taxes charged extra. The price mentioned on the menu card are all inclusive [I hope so].
That apart, these guys have given a new meaning to the word value for money. I mean, I can’t imagine a damn good pasta and falafel wrap for that price; it’s a steal. Not that you don’t get better Pasta for higher price but I have had much worst Pasta at a slightly higher price that TGFC charges.
There were quite a few items on that VEG ONLY menu that I have noted and will try on my next visit. Yes, this experience has warranted a few more visits to this lovely restaurant.
Kudos to the management and keep up...
