Thyme & Whisk - Fine-Dine Restaurant — Restaurant in Mumbai

Thyme & Whisk is a multicuisine restaurant having a vast menu. The menu made me think of a quote “A master of none, jack of all.” Let’s see how this place fared.

Here is what we ordered:

🥇FIRST COURSE: SOUPS 🥣

1. MUSHROOM 🍄 & THYME SOUP : ⭐️CANNY FAVOURITE⭐️ (4.5/5) Light on the Palette and full of flavour. A must have

2. BROCCOLI 🥦 & ALMOND CAPACCINO (4/5) May wonder why Capaccino but don’t worry it’s a safe bet if you like these flavours.

🥈SECOND COURSE: APPETISER 🧆

1. FUSION TANDOORI MOMO 🥟 (3.5/5) The Momo had a tasteful marination with sufficient paneer stuffing. Good for a one-time try

2. AVOCADO 🥑 FETA BRUSCHETTA (1.5/5) AVOIDABLE ❌

Would not recommend this at all. The guac was not fresh at all and it tasted extremely sour. The grilled bread was not crispy at all.

🥉THIRD COURSE: MAIN COURSE 🍱

1. PATTAYA MASSAMAN SIZZLER ⭐️CANNY FAVOURITE⭐️ (4.5/5)

The Massaman curry was full of flavour and went perfectly well with flat noodles, stir fried veggies and potato fries.

4️⃣FOURTH COURSE: DESSERT 🧁

1. TEXTURES OF CHOCOLATE (2/5) AVOIDABLE ❌

Looks can be deceiving is what this dessert is. The chocolate tart was extremely hard and the more than required caramel sauce overpowered the dish.

5️⃣BEVERAGE: 🍹

1)Fresh Lime Soda (1/5) AVOIDABLE ❌

Ordered for a mix of sweet and salty, the drink had no soda fizz and it was only sweet. We gave our feedback but was not considered to be taken off the bill.

The place is lovely, great decor!

Service: was friendly but a little slow. We had asked to sit somewhere else and were told it was only for larger parties but there was a woman dining alone in the four person booth next to us, so unsure why she was allowed there on her own and we weren’t able to sit in a space for more than 4 people bear in mind the place had three other parties so not full at all,

Food: very very good!! I love that they don’t call keep calling themselves a vegan place all over the menu, they’re just a restaurant. I’ve always thought about a vegan restaurant not labelling themselves as vegan in every point of contact (menu, signs on the wall etc) and normalising it. Hats off! The menu is also really diverse.

Atmosphere: the booths are connected so you could be back to back with another person in the booth next two you there are visual screens i think this could cause an issue if you had teo 4 person parties next to each other with the noise of chatter etc. I say this because we had a lady in a booth by herself next to us sitting on the other side of the screen where I was and she played loud music on her phone all evening taking selfies, the staff didn’t ask her to not play music out loud on her phone which let the place down. Our dining experience was impacted quite a lot by her music. I would have asked her myself but i didn’t want to then have to sit there in awkwardness and the seating is so close to each other (at one point she turned to look at me to see where I was because I got in the back of one of her selfies, that’s how close it was).

Pros: taste, portions, variety are amazing, I’d definitely go back.

Cons: staff are not attentive and a bit unorganised. Should be taking care of what guidance the restaurant has for maintaining ambience- are you guys ok with everyone listening to loud music in their phones disturbing...
