Went on a Date night here as both of us love Italian food. Heard a lot about the place and chef. So here is how it went.

Service- Had the most terrible experience with the service here. We had to switch our table twice and sit outdoors even after booking an indoor table a day in advance. We weren't provided with any cutlery and had to ask for it again and again since the food was getting cold. They didn't serve us water at all. Neither they had the courtesy to ask if we wanted.

Seating- The seating indoors was a bit cramped, it felt as if an extra table was added in between two other tables and we felt like we were sharing a table with others. We finally had to compromise and sit outside. Which we understand at times coz you have to accommodate a bigger group but when you reserve 24 hrs in advance there are some basic expectations.

Food- The overall taste was good and the flavours were authentic.

We understand that it's a new venture but with such a horrible experience we wouldn't like to go back there and won't recommend it to anyone else either. The coordination between the servers was not good at all. They didnt even remeber who ordered what. They brought in two dishes which we didnt order(we rejected them bviously). The cherry on top- we were charged with service charge of 10% after a terrible experience (they were kind enough to remove it after we expressed our issues with them charging for terrible service)

If you still try this place then don't expect much as even with such an experienced chef and great food the overall experience was very bad.

Food- 4/5 Service- 1/5 Value for...

So I went to Toast Past bar to celebrate my birthday. Here was my experience - with all due respect I hope the chef can really take this feedback because I feel that there’s a lot of potential in the food I ordered 2 starters which were the Parma ham on top of a fried dough - honestly this could have been great but the only thing we could taste was the oiliness of the bread and not the cream cheese/ham on top. It was topped with very less of the same and was more dough the fried bread with Parmesan on top - again same issue, too sweet also since there was honey and I barely got the taste of the Parmesan on top which should have added a distinct flavour

Mains - the tenderloin - sauce was good, tenderloin did not have a distinct taste to the crust and was too chewy. I had ordered medium rare but there was barely any seasoning on it. No side like a mashed potato pasta - the actual pasta was really nice with the wild mushrooms

Dessert - Tiramisu - was nice although it will only suit the palette of individuals who like alchohol taste in their mouth apple crumble pie - again too much taste of oil and dough did not really enjoy this

Service - service was nice but despite informing them that it was a birthday they sent forward a candle too late after we were done with the dessert but I appreciate that they gave a dessert on the house

Overall I think for the price there’s a lot that can be done to make the food great. I hope maybe the next time I’m there I get to...

My friends had been talking about their gnocchi for days. Last night, I put my foot down and said that I will not be hearing any further praises of the food here unless I get to eat it, and that's how we ended up at dinner at Toast Pasta Bar yesterday. It's just decent weather in Mumbai right now, and we decided to sit in non-AC area of the restaurant. A lovely wind was blowing, the music was light and (I think) French/Italian jazz, and the flowers, creepers on the walls meant the vibe was JUST right. We ordered Marinated Olives: Just juicy green, black olives marinated to perfection Prawns Again, juicy, seasoned delicately yet with a wholesome flavour. Oxtail Ragu This is like eating a hug. I plan to have two plates of this on my next visit and calling it a day. Blue cheese and Madras onion pasta A PUNCH of flavours in this sauce. Earthy, wholesome and very satisfying. Gnocchi It really did live up to the hype. Each gnocchi is so carefully constructed and the amount of pepper in the sauce is chefs kiss Panacotta Just the perfect dessert, not too sweet, wonderful texture and the vanilla flavour fills your senses for a lovely after taste. Warm Almond Cake Little bit on the sweeter side, but very satisfying.

The amazing thing about the pastas here was that they were not heavy on the tummy. We split those 7 dishes among 4 people and it was filling, but not overwhelming. Visiting...

We visited this café with all the hype surrounding it, but unfortunately, we found the experience to be pretty average, much like any other café or restaurant with a similar menu. The food was decent, but not extraordinary. We tried the pesto gnocchi, which we liked, and the potato fritters, which were essentially mini French fries (you can skip those). The spinach gnudi pasta, their best-seller, was overwhelmingly cheesy and lacked much else in flavor. However, their Christmas menu beverages were a highlight—absolutely amazing! The true standout of the evening was the tiramisu. It was absolutely delicious and definitely worth trying, so if you’re visiting, make sure to get a slice of that. As for the atmosphere, the place felt like a typical restaurant with nothing particularly unique. Several tables were empty during our visit, the music was a bit loud, noisy crowd, and dim lights - didn't really help with the overall vibe. That said, the service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, courteous, and offered great recommendations, especially for vegetarian options. Overall, while the café is nice, we don’t think it lives up to the hype when you consider the price in relation to the overall experience—food, ambiance, and service. It’s a decent spot for a meal, but nothing groundbreaking. However, if you love tiramisu, it's definitely worth a visit for that alone!

Vibe : ✅ Food : ✅ Service : ✅✅✅ Amongst a lot of vibey places in Kamala Mills also is this lovely Italian place. And unlike most aesthetic places it doesnt only deliver on ambience but wholesomely on food and service. They have 2 sittings for dinner 7pm and 9 30pm. We chose 7pm as we were accompanied by a kid. We ordered the burrata caprese which was a perfect mix of sweet and tarty tomatoes with the rich burrata over toasty sourdough bread. We had seen some pictures on their social media and enquired about the crab beignets as they werent on the menu. The restaurant were kind to make that for us as we really wanted to try them out and they were super. Crispy, lightly battered and coated with edge to edge filling of seasoned crabmeat with a spicy dip. We chose ravioli for the main course which was good and ended with a belgium chocolate panacotta with sour cherries which was silky smooth yet light. The food is excellent but what puts the place over is the service. The staff was kind, accomodative, prompt, responsive and even made our under 5yrs of age child feel like home. So yes you should go for the vibe and the food but you should recommend for their service
