Food taste was very average. We ordered Surmayi thali, tisrya thali and prawns thali. All fish and curries were bland. Tisrya masala was very average in taste. Also, Vade was very thin and tasteless. Surmayi was very average in taste with no proper marination. Solkadhi was good. Rates were very high as compared to the taste. After watching so many videos on social network we went there but it was really very bad experience.
Dear Vaarsa team,
As i was not able to reply to your message. I am editing my reply again. I thought u will have some courtesy to accept genuine comments of customers. Looks like you got offended by genuine review. I have born and brought up with Malvani families, friends around. So, please don't make assumptions like my palate was not ready for Malvani cuisine. I will suggest you to first learn to make authentic Malvani food and only then present it as Malvani food. We are going to many Malvani food joints around like Datta boarding, Masta Malvani and Maajghar since very long where we can say its a authentic malvani food. I can definitely tell that food i tasted at Vaarsa was bland, even fish marinations was not having enough salt. So preparation was lacking very basic things. I hope you will not get offended by this real review and will try to improve the quality and taste of food. Note: Marketing doesn't...
Read moreSince the restaurant is close to my home, I thought Sunday would be a good day to visit. However, I ended up waiting for almost 45 minutes to get a table, which made me wonder—was it really going to be worth it?
To my surprise, it absolutely was!
First, the food arrived promptly despite the crowd. Second—and most importantly—the taste exceeded all expectations. The 45-minute wait quickly faded from memory as soon as the dishes started arriving.
We ordered the Tawa Mutton Chaap—a must-try, rich in flavor and perfectly cooked. Along with that, we had the Bombil Fry Thali, Surmai Thali, and Mutton Vajri Thali. Each one was delicious, but the Surmai Thali stood out the most with its freshness and bold coastal flavors.
The true star of the meal, though, was the Solkadhi. As a proud Konkani, I like to call it “Soul Kadi” because it truly touches the soul from the very first sip. I usually only enjoy homemade Solkadhi, but the one at Vaarsa was so close to home-style that we ended up ordering another round!
Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience—delicious food, reasonable pricing, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. To top it off, there was live singing on Sunday, which made the evening even more enjoyable.
Highly recommended! If you're planning to go, take your family along—the wait is...
Read moreWe recently ordered the Chicken Gavran Thali, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The taste of the thali was far below expectations—the flavors were blend and lacked authenticity. Most concerning was that the chicken pieces were not cooked properly, which raised serious concerns about hygiene and food safety.
It seems the restaurant's popularity is largely driven by social media influencers and curated posts, rather than genuine customer satisfaction. The ambience and location might look appealing, but the actual food quality does not match the hype at all.
In a place that serves non-vegetarian food, proper cooking and hygiene are non-negotiable. The lack of attention to these basics suggests a clear compromise on standards. Also, the service was average at best, and the staff didn’t seem attentive to customer feedback.
I strongly recommend that people should not be misled by influencers or fancy décor. Always prioritize taste, hygiene, and overall value for money when choosing a...
