Update 3: I tried out a menu item and it was decent, and just about managed to justify it's high price. The AC is now working but because of poor shop design and location, they can't really chill the shop environment. Also, the direct morning and afternoon sunlight they get heats up the shop like a solar cooker. They might as well install solar panels in the front of their shop.
One major issue with Flurry in the last 2 years is that they keep very less stock so you can't buy in bulk (more than 2 pieces) on the day of the occasion, you have to tell them a day before that you want certain items. In contrast,Theobroma keeps atleast 5-6 pieces per item . Theobroma is targeting revenue at the cost of wastage while Flurry is targeting operational efficiency at the cost of revenue and customer disappointment. Both are valid choices, since these two companies are at different stages of their growth cycles.
However as a customer, it's disappointing to see neither premium company deliver on all fronts. I wish I could combine the salesy politeness of Flurry and soft sofas, with the functional AC of Theobroma, the taste of Flurry items with the sheer stockpiling ability of Theobroma, the transparency of pricing and tax calculation of Flurry with the more attractive pricing of Theobroma. But one can't have everything,so ho hum...
Update 2:AC not working, and it had been giving issues for a while. Don't make plans to eat here. With inflation rising, they have decided to take the shrinkflation approach. Product sizes have shrunk visibly, and either due to shop being hot or change in recipe, the rumball and quiche that I ate tasted different from the last time. Theobroma next door has also adopted cost cutting measures but not as drastic as Flury.
Update:ordered a rumball to takeaway ,instead they packed a pink pastry . Seems like strawberry cube ,one of their worst products (my opinion).
Some of the pastries are okay. Counter staff keeps changing but currently is fine. Problem is they have kept only 1 kitchen staff. So if a group of people order, the food arrives at different intervals. If everyone is okay sharing all the food that's fine otherwise you'll watch one family member eat while waiting for your order. I appreciate that some of the food needs to be made fresh. And assembling the pre cooked items also takes time. But the price paid makes the customer expect a better experience. Suppose 4 people order for different things. And assembling every order takes 15 minutes. How will the 4th person feel when their food comes 45-60 minutes later? That's the main issue. Apart from this, the all day breakfast has changed since the opening. During open, many options were there and some of the items kept were premium and difficult to get anywhere else in Navi Mumbai. And priced at 500 or so. Now the price is 800,no options as such, and the resulting combo is possible to order from cloud kitchens on Swiggy/Zomato. Finally,no ambience. The lobby of one of the businesses upstairs in sharing the same space with flurry. So they can't turn on the AC,put ambience music etc. It's an extra large space which isn't sound proofed or air tight. The chairs and tables are comfortable. But at this price point, from a brand people are nostalgic about, expectations can be high.
At the end of the day ,when flurry opened here in Belapur, there was no one else serving what they served. Now there's so many cafes and pastry shops in that area, all vying for the market created by Theobroma and Starbucks. Let's see if Flurry survives here. I think the Park Hotel being nearby helps. Hopefully they improve or atleast keep serving the...
Read moreThe entire outlet was smelling, i guess it was due to the stale food they serve, i might have to lodge a police complaint as this would harm someones health due to food poisioning, i have observed cockroaches crawling up the refrigerator in the kitchen, after seeing this i decided to cancel my order but unfortunately I had already paid, my bad luck waste of money, so I had no option but to discard that into the dustbin, initially i thought i should give it to the street dogs but then later i thought even they would die of food poisioning so it's better to discard it. I am definitely going to lodge a complaint about this.
A near death experience i must say. Guys, please read my review before thinking of going there as you are putting your...
Read moreWorst experience for breakfast. Was here for a family breakfast and ordered the All Day Breakfast. All the food at the table was brought out at different times so the family could not eat breakfast together instead watched each person finish their dish.
The All Day breakfast took 30 minutes to get to the table and the chicken sausage and bacon was still undercooked. The beans were put in tomato sauce/ketchup and served which isn’t correct either. The only reason the place even gets one star is for the cappuccino which was...
