Terrible Experience at Malvan Tadka, Vashi – Arrogant Staff & Poor Customer Service
We had a horrible experience at Malvan Tadka, Vashi, when we visited for a family dinner with 8 adults and 2 kids at 10:30 PM. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not have a table for 8, so the front desk manager assured us that a table would be available in 5 minutes, as a birthday party group was settling their bill.
However, despite repeated assurances from the manager and front desk staff, there was a heated argument inside between the restaurant and the birthday party family due to billing mismatches. After waiting for 30 minutes, when we asked the manager again, his response was shocking:
❌ “It’s not my problem, I never asked you to wait.”
This level of unprofessionalism left us frustrated, and our entire family decided to leave in disappointment. While waiting for the ladies to finish using the washroom (around 11:30-11:45 PM), I overheard the manager and front desk lady rudely discussing our family, saying:
👉 “Are they gone? Let them go. We don’t care.”
Hearing this was the last straw! When I confronted them about their false assurances and complete lack of responsibility, instead of apologizing, the front desk lady became aggressive and rudely asked one of our family ladies to ‘Get out!’
At this point, we had no choice but to stand up for ourselves and give them a lesson in hotel management, customer service, and basic etiquette. The staff remained arrogant, refusing to acknowledge their terrible behavior.
🔹 We had to call the police and demand an official complaint against the manager and staff. Only then did they offer a reluctant apology—but not from the rude front desk lady, who was still being defended by her colleagues.
❌ Final Verdict: Malvan Tadka, Vashi, has horrible service, unprofessional staff, and absolutely no respect for customers. If you value dignity, professionalism, and good service, I strongly recommend avoiding this place!

Read moreWe visited Malvan Tadka, Vashi on May 1st, 2024, as a group of five, hoping for an authentic seafood experience. We ordered both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The starters were alright, but the paneer starters were overloaded with garlic.
Moving on to the main course, we ordered fish, chicken, paneer, and bread. Unfortunately, we were informed that Neer Dosa, despite being on the menu, was unavailable. We opted for the server's suggestion of a local bread, Gaavan. The child in our group was hungry and hence we had to remind the staff about our order numerous times.
While waiting, we ordered two Solkadis. Finally, the main course arrived. However, as the food was placed on our table, we were informed that Gaavane was not available. This left us scrambling for a solution with our food growing cold. We called for the manager, but even they couldn't offer any assistance or explanation for the late notification about Gaavane's unavailability.
Without a resolution, we switched to roti. Disappointingly, no effort was made by the staff to salvage the situation by reheating the food or offering an apology. We felt disregarded and like any expectation of better service was misplaced.
Ultimately, our experience was ruined. We simply finished our cold food (Surmai, chicken, and a below-average Paneer Lababdar) and left. The delays continued with receiving finger bowls and the bill. Oh, did I not mention the Solkadis, well, they never came!
Overall, it was a deeply disappointing experience. Despite the seemingly large staff, including men, women, and supervisors, they appeared to be aimlessly wandering. While busy, they weren't accomplishing much. Reaching out for assistance often resulted in being ignored or redirected to another staff member. The service lacked coordination and, frankly, so did the...
