Detailed Review - It's quite rare for me to rate a restaurant as high as 4½ unless I've come across something exceptional. Nimantran by OTDC stands out from other Restaurants in Puri due to their impeccable standards in terms of Hospitality, Consumer Experience & Cuisine. I'm not a big fan of Restaurants that boast a huge variety of dishes on their Menu card but end up serving mediocre food. And this is exactly where Nimantran succeeds.
They've a limited list of cuisine they're offering thus ensuring highest levels of standards in their service. The staff mentioned that their list changes as per the availablity of materials & time of service which again adds up to the surprise factor. However, when I ordered 🦀 Curry, they denied serving it since the Crabs they had wasn't up to the standards. So I ordered Prawn Curry instead. The Bill that I ended up paying was so reasonable that I felt as if I'm dreaming.
The Service was Top Notch. The 'Tanka Torani' welcome drink is a testament to the fact that they're really professional in their work & are dedicated towards providing an exceptional customer experience. The interiors are great, walls lined with Pinewood while the Balcony seating is great if you wish to enjoy the food while overlooking the sea.
Please keep up this amazing service. During my 3 day stay in Puri, I always came across Restaurants that ranged from being Overpriced to Insanely priced. Big slap to those who say Govt services should be Privatized. Govt serves the people, Private serves the Money. I challenge if someone could suggest me places that offer better & value for money services that Nimantran offers.
All the best to the Staff at Nimantran. Thank you for making my...
Read moreAbsolute banger of a place. Would want to come back to Puri just for these guys and the sea views.
Location 10/10. The top seating area overlooks the sea and is amazing on a full moon night, or even midday. Ambience 9/10. Elegantly done. To me, the architecture and interiors looked like a perfect blend of Scandinavian styled elegance and minimalism even as it celebrated the traditions of Orissa across its own unique diaspora. They have paid very high attention to detail even on the materials used Amin the decor, and most of it looked locally sourced. Service: 10/10. Very gracious and respectful staff. They help educate folks on Odia cuisine and are fun to talk to. This level of service one can only expect in an Oberoi. And it’s not an overstatement.
And finally, Food: 10/10. Have not had this level of Odia food ever in a restaurant. In fact, it’s easily one of my top 20 restaurants in India. Many of their dishes are unique and are borderline fusion food like ragi soup, and chakuli burrito(did not find this on the menu but read they had it in their original menu. Would have loved to try it). Despite being a foodie, I have never looked at Odia food as having any sort of potential, but have probably underestimated it. This place is solid inspiration for me to go back home and try a bunch of dishes, odia fusion or otherwise.
They have done a killer job and I seriously hope they continue to maintain this level of quality consistently. They can def look to open branches in Delhi and charge multiples of what they have done here. This place has the potential to be a crowd...
Read moreThe staff started fighting with the customer because we came from assam at 9:30 but they did not have any nun or biryani they did not have any fried rice also when we cancelled the order after 2 mins they started pushing one of our family members and started fighting they even said we haved drink alcohol and giving slangs to us. One of the staff was started asking about the money of the order which we cancelled they did not even have anything that we wanted to eat like nun, biryani, puffed rice with mutton, not any special item of chicken and other things but when the time was still 9:30 . This restaurant staff even started using bad language with us. I think every restaurant should have a good behaviour towards it's customer. But this nimantran hotel did not have such good behaviour towards us. They atleast should have a used some good language with us they started the fight with using slangs and the behaviour was very bad. Even it was 9:30 they should atleast have what every indians want to eat. Atleast street vendors have more nice behaviour than them. Even when we were ordering our food one family was eating their food they even were complaining about their food. I don't know how did they got their so much review I think they use their staff phone to give the review. I suggest that every indians Or foreiners those who come here should be carefull in searching in google and review because it will cause bad impression for...
