I HAVE RARELY TASTED SUCH DELICIOUS VEGETARIAN FOOD. MIND YOU THEY DO NOT USE ONION OR GARLIC. I WOULD HAPPILY HAVE SUCH VEGETARIAN FOOD EVERYDAY. GENEROUS SERVING COOKED IN PURE GHEE. BUT MIND YOU NO EXCESS GHEE AT ALL.

PREPARATION TIME MIGHT BE HIGH BUT ITS WORTH THE WAIT IN PURI. THANKS TO MY SADU ( BROTHER IN LAW) FOR THE SUGGESTION.

OUR SECOND VISIT TO GOVINDA ON 23rd FEBRUARY, WAS A NIGHTMARE WE HAD TO WAIT FOR 45 MINUTES BEFORE FOOD WAS SERVED. TASTE WAS VERY VERY ORDINARY. I CAN SAY BAD.

I DO NOT THINK THEY HAVE THE SAME COOK EVERYDAY!!!

FURTHER I NOTICED THE BAD BEHAVIOR OF THE OWNER WITH A GUEST BECAUSE HE WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE DELAY.

THIS RESTAURANT I FOUND OUT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ISCKON THEY ARE JUST HOODWINKING CUSTOMERS IN BELIEVING THEY DO. PLEASE STAY...

The three of us in our group walked in around 4:30pm, and were starving. Service was quick. We ordered mixed veg curry, dal fry, plain rice, jeera rice and curd. All the dishes arrived in about 20-25mins.

The restaurant is clean, and has a sattvic menu, and all the dishes we ordered were AMAZING, especially the mixed veg curry. Our bill was about INR350, so definitely great value for money.

We asked for pickle to have with the curd and rice, but unfortunately a sattvic diet does not allow for pickles and the staff told us so very courteously. They were also very accommodating of my lactose and gluten allergies and suggested the right items on the menu to suit.

After visiting many temples and places in this Jagannath Dham, Puri township , we preferred to go a bit away from the crowds to have our lunch. It is located to a main road, a building complex with parking outside, and inside air-conditioned dinning hall. Perhaps less people were visiting this hotel because of location or affordability, that's why staff took time to bring ordered platters. There was a long waiting then food was served. Food preparation and quality was best and worth waiting. We five people took the delicious lunch and mineral bottled water and paid around 1300/-, not so costly ofcourse!!
