A-1 Famous Dum Biryani — Restaurant in Panvel

I visited the restaurant couple of days back and had ordered a starter, chicken Kolhapuri with some rotis and Biryani. I have been visiting this place regularly since 12 yrs now and used to love the food here but this visit disappointed me as when we went we saw the table and the sofas were not cleaned properly and we had to wait to find someone to ask them to clean the same as no one was available once sitted we ordered the food and starter was great and rotis were nice aswell no place to complaint just one thing could have been better was presentation of the food as I feel it really matters when you go to one of the famous restaurant. Than comes the biryani absolutely bland in taste with no raita served and we again had to find the server to ask for it which took 4-5 mins and when asked we were informed they don’t have raita which was never informed until we asked for it and no alternative was offered or served for the same. I honestly feel such an old restaurant which says in its name Famous Dum Biryani couldn’t meet its signature product which was really disappointing. Also the service was too slow and inconsistent as I wont blame the guy taking care of us as he was alone with a helper who was not so confident and he was struggling to handle tables its the fault of people who assigned the staff there and also everything is old the ambience is so so poor when we compare the menu pricing with other restaurants in the vicinity. A1 dum biryani is an family restaurant. The prizes are quite low and the taste is good. Whenever we visit the place there is waiting upto half and hour. The place is clean, the interior is good, the staffs are humble and polite to everyone. Coming to the food that we ordered:- 1.Chicken Tandoori (full) :-the presentation of chicken tandoori was good, the tandoori was well cooked, chicken was fresh and the taste was good. 2.Tawa Chicken :-Tawa chicken gravy was awesome In taste, the quantity of gravy was good as per the price. 3:-chicken pahadi :--chicken pahadi was serve in a two different colour green and red,full pahadi look, by seeing our mouth started watering, the taste is good and the quantity is good. 4.Chicken Dum Biryani :- as per the name, the restaurant is famous for their chicken dum biryani, their best dish, so we ordered. The biryani was well cooked, the presentation of biryani was good, the quantity was good. My family was having dinner there around 10pm and we found a huge dirty toe nail in our food, and that nail unfortunately was in one of my family member mouht while she was eating. We all were so disgusted with the food, I request the food inspector to conduct an inspection there because the place where they were chopping vegetables it was unhygienic and damp and all the men chopping there were not wearing gloves or hats or any kind of precautionary equipment which would prevent Such an outcome even the waiters or the cooks working in the kitchen had no gloves or hats while cooking.
