This is a restaurant that has been on my bucket list for a long time, and now that I have done it, I have only few words- YES!
We visited on the 31st, which was probably why our table was near the door and the service was very slow. The crowd was thick, but atleast full of families.
We started out with the chicken manchow and lemon coriander soup. They were hot and flavourful, the rich broth seeping into our tongues. They did skimp on the chicken though, which was a shame.
For starters, we decided on the good old chicken tandoori. The chicken was soft and tender and everything I ever dreamed of, I finished it in mere minutes.
Our main course was something substantial- chicken lapeta and some thin rice rotis! The lapeta was a wonderful burst of flavours, a little spicy, a dash in tangy. You could actually taste all the spices they used and the meat just melts in your mouth.
We also ordered chicken biryani, which was simple and minimal, yet so charming.
To soothe our palates, we had some solkadi, which came in these really tall glasses. It was not very palatable but the cool relief was much appreciated.
However, the highlight was the icecream brownie with hot chocolate sauce which was a delight to eat. The hot, sizzling sauce poured over the ice-cold brownie made for an interesting attack on the senses. The brownie was not very sweet yet absolutely delicious and the icecream provided some cold relief from the sauce.
The ambience was good. The interior decor was quaint and chic with warm overtones that provided a brightening aura.
The waiters were polite enough, only the service was so so excruciatingly slow it was torture. But perhaps the fault lies with us for visiting on such a busy day.
The prices lie a little on the expensive side, so I would suggest only come with your family on special occasions.
I regret not trying the seafood selection,...
Read moreJust returned from Malvan Tadka, Kharghar after having dinner with my family, and I must say the experience was absolutely fantastic. This place is perfect for a family outing — clean, spacious, and with comfortable seating in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
First, let’s talk about the food — the seafood here is the real star. We ordered a few seafood special dishes, and every bite was bursting with fresh, authentic flavors. The seafood was perfectly cooked, the spices were balanced — not overly spicy, not bland — and the presentation was excellent. The crab, prawns, and surmai fish were all outstanding and truly memorable.
The service was equally impressive. The staff were polite, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. They checked on us at the right moments to make sure everything was fine. Orders were served quickly, and every dish arrived piping hot.
The ambiance is cozy and family-friendly, with soft background music and coastal Malvani-inspired décor that adds a relaxing touch.
If you’re a seafood lover, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Malvan Tadka, Kharghar. You’ll get 100% satisfaction in taste, quality, and service. I’m definitely going to become a...
